NET METERING constitutes significant economic incentives for customers who use
DERs to produce their own electricity since electricity since it plays an important role
to reduce their electricity bills and the success of investments in renewable energy. Net
metering is intended primarily to offset the electricity consumption from the utility’s grid
in order to reduce customers’ bills. In addition, net metering could assist customers to
take advantage of most of the energy produced by customers’ on-site DERs. Moreover,
net metering would help the use of renewable energy, which in turn will be very impor?tant for the environment. DERs are small-scale energy resources that can be installed
at or near to customers’ premises in order to provide electricity to customers’ loads or to
provide electricity to neighborhood customers by directly connecting to distribution net?works. DERs can be considered as one of the viable solutions for reliability of supplying
energy in power systems as well as for addressing the environmental concerns

Project Objectives

Pakistan is facing massive energy crisis and it is important to find the solution for this,
the natural resources are almost retarded so we need to get an alternative solution for
the energy Production. Solar Energy is the cheapest and most available source in our
county. We can make the effective use of this energy to make our country free from
Energy crisis. We may have multiple ways to use this energy, one of them is the NET
METERING Technology. Users of any type always wants the new application which are
easy to use, reliable and financially viable. Making this type of system that is salable
and feasible is a difficult task.

Project Implementation Method

Home is equipped with a solar panels that generate 
electric power. An inverter turns the DC (direct 
current) power coming from renewable energy 
source into AC (alternating current) power, which 
matches the voltage of the electricity flowing 
through the power line.
As that excess energy is being generated, power 
meter spins backward rather than forward, giving a 
credit that can use to pay for future energy use.

• Solar PV (Photo Voltaic) cells convert sun energy into electrical 
energy, thus using cleaner way to generate power. During day time, 
generated electricity supplied to the connected load & balance energy 
gets stored into batteries, for night time consumption. Depending on 
the specific power back up requirements at site, Batteries and inverters 
are added into system.
Typical load which can be supported in residential complexes / row 
houses / bungalows etc. are:
? Common area lighting like staircase lights, stilt parking lights, 
terrace, gate lights, club house etc.
? Swimming pool lighting
? Residential loads like PC, fans, lights etc.

Benefits of the Project

As NET METERING is very green project, it has very less environmental hazardous
effects. The project is very user friendly and almost all parameters are controlled by
Bluetooth and android app, this made the project extremely advanced and easy to use.

Net metering may help reduce peak load hours, which
will provide both utilities and customers with many
benefits such as increased system reliability, reduced
electricity prices, and reduced real power losses.
It represents a significant role in preserving the
environment since it encourages customers to use
renewable energy resources, considered cost-effective
and environmentally friendly.
