Solar powered water trash collector robot
Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummarySolar energy is one such renewable resource, and nature harnesses it through the process of photosynthesis [1].
First of all, when trash was collected from water, it used manpower . In which people used to collect trash by hand . But then came the problem that it had too much manpower.[7] Then people started thinking of a solution. So he came up with the solution that the direction of flowing water is one sided. So they set a trap through which the water would pass and the trash would remain in the trap. Then came the problem that it was only for flowing water. But how to collect trash with standing water like swimming pool and beach etc.[8]
The prototype is made of the following components; solar panel, battery, Styrofoam, fine screen and dc motor. The solar panel of 12V is attached to a battery which is also connected to a 3.7V DC motor. The motor is then attached to a pulley for it to be connected to the shaft. The shaft is connected to the pulley which converts the shaft's rotational motion into thrust which moves the robot. As a result, the solar powered trash collector’s range of usage is limited because this prototype is for swimming pools only. We concluded that in order to achieve the desired rotational speed output of the propeller in which it will make our garbage collector vacuumed efficiently, we decided that we are going to replace the electric motor that we have used on our propeller in the beginning which is 5V into a 3.7V electric motor
Project Objectives- To design a robot that can collect the trash from the rever, lakes and swimming pool etc.
- To design a robot that can be oprated through the solar power system to reduce the power.
To achieve the objectives, the following steps will be taken.
- Details literature review
- Simulation of the basic circuit in multisim
- Coding in embedded C
- Usage of Arduino
- PCB designing
- Designing of the mechanical part
- Assembling of the hardware
- Testing of the final prototype
- Writing the project report (thesis)
Now world facing biggest problem of floating garbage. And it is increasing in tremendous amount so it is very difficult to clean all this floating garbage because of more requirement of manpower. so, in future this remote and automatic operated floating river cleaning machine has more scope to remove large capacity of garbage automatically as fast as possible.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableWe should deliver the final prototype that will opearted on the solar powered with mode of the final prototype one is manual and the anthor is automatic mode of the robot.
