SOLAR BASE VERTICAL FARMING SYSTEM
Renewable energy based supply systems are the potential solution to replace the fossil fuel
resources. WHILE reducing environmental pollution and overcome the incremental power
consumption. In this project renewable energy-based electricity generation, alongside main
farming system for a Higher amount of production. The renewable energy sources considered
include are PV system with Battery Storage and with NET-Metering method to meet the farming
demand of a firm production. The key optimization parameters considered in this study are, Cost
of Electricity (COE), Net Metering , reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. The past
electricity demand for the different functional infra structures is accounted to develop the energy
scenarios to meet the peak farming demand for the production by using a PV System. The results
of this project demonstrate that PV System with Net-Metering method as the optimal and
economic configuration for practical implementation to meet the peak demand of 800 kW. The
COE from the PV system with Net-Metering is estimated 6 Rs/kWh, which is less than the COE
obtained from grid, 18 Rs /kWh. The COE obtained from the PV-battery system is 8.78 Rs/kWh,
which is also lower than the COE obtained from the grid but higher than PV system with Net-
Metering. These analysis results suggest that the PV System with Net-Metering method is more
reliable, techno economically feasible and environmentally viable alternative to grid.

To monitor system’s performance
The main objective of our project is to design and fabricate solar based virtual farming.
In order to achieve this objective, a series of steps were taken. Firstly, the project was designed and evaluated using software such as Multisim and MATLAB. After achieving satisfactory results, the project was implemented in hardware. The implementation was found to be successful. It was verified that Net meter was able to measure the net energy consumed by the unity power factor load
Further we want to promote local peoples to produce clean and green virtual farming by incentivizing, so that central power system power crises can be minimized rapidly. And the peoples already has have excess amount of solar energy shouldn’t be wasted instead of injecting to central grid and enjoy handsome food & groceries.
