Smart Gharana is an automated home system. It features a home assistant in a single application that will help the user save time by simplifying daily tasks. The system will serve as an assistant to visually impaired people by integrating voice commands using natural language processing and a security system for doors (specifically garage door) with alarms using image processing techniques.

Project Objectives

• Reminders about Important Events and Tasks
• Toggle home appliances using voice commands which will help visually impaired people to perform daily physical tasks including turning on/off fans, lights, air-conditioners and tv/radios.
• Build Security System for Garage Door and Main Door to manage security systems easy.
• Train the system to respond to Urdu Language

Project Implementation Method

An Android app with Flutter front-end and Flask back-end with multiple modules.

1. A Reminders module in which user can add reminders about important events and tasks using voice commands and the user will be reminded at the set time.
2. Another module is Devices which toggles appliances using voice commands.
3. Another module will be Security which will oversee the door security system. 

The devices(appliances) will be connected with ESP32 and Arduino Relay. The ESP32 will also be connected to the android app.

The security module requires Camera and Raspberry Pi. The Garage Door will read the number plate of a car to check if it is a known vehicle and safe to enter. The Main Door camera will use face recognition to check if a known person is on the door so that it opens the door.

Benefits of the Project

With each passing day our life is becoming extremely busy and challenging and time is an important factor. By using our system users will be able to perform their daily life tasks easily which will save their precious time which they can devote to their work making their life simpler and easier. The system will also assist visually impaired people as the home assistant is powered by voice commands. The system will offer a security system for doors (specifically garage door) through object detection.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

• Android Application integrated with home appliances and door security system.
• ESP32 with Arduino Relay connected to the home appliances like lights to switch them on or off according to the users command.
• Raspberry Pi with a Camera to open the doors according to the face recognised or the car registration plate.
