Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryWe have developed a model/system that shows its efficiency on road by controlling the traffic smartly and we have termed it as a Smart Traffic Control System (STCS). This project is used to manage the jammed traffic on road and passing the smooth running of the traffic. The STCS specially designs for the purpose to clear the road for any emergency vehicle such as an ambulance. The smart traffic control system also has a feature to sense the number of vehicles on road and according to the current condition of traffic, it manages the stay timing of the red signal and increase or decrease the timing of rest position.
Project ObjectivesThe main objectives of the project are,
1. To clear roads for ambulances in traffic jams.
2. To develop a time-efficient traffic management system.
Project Implementation MethodThe project is implemented in both,
- Hardware and
- Software
- Hardware:
The hardware is design as the prototype of the project that explains the function of the project physically and runs the program. The hardware consists of a thermopile for the structure, on that we design the four-way roads to display and operate the signal by using LEDs (Red, Yellow, Green).
- Software:
We used C language for coding, the code distributed into two parts.
In the First part, Arduino transmits the signal by using the RF module that consists of two-part the first is a transmitter and another is the receiver. The transmitter will transmit the signal if the ambulance will be in the range of the signal. Basically, the transmitter is planted under the ambulance, when the ambulance gets in the range of the receiver, the receiver will receive the positive signal and allow the signal to pass the traffic and clear the road for an ambulance.
The other one is to sense the traffic on road and manage the stay time of the vehicles smartly by using Ultra Sonic Sensor. In the case of low traffic on road, this STCS saves & manages huge time.
Benefits of the ProjectThe project benefits are,
1. It provides chaos less movement for emergency vehicles such as an ambulance.
2. It provides a time-efficient traffic management system.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableMentioned are the following tools used in this project to increase its efficiency and work accuracy

Size and Weight:
The decided length and width prototype of the smart traffic control system is (4x2) feet. Its original weight will be 2 pounds. The given size and weight can increase or decrease as per tool requirements.
Controls Keys:
It controls automatically and works in loop infinity.
