Project Objectives

The smart flower is an-all in one ground mounted solar system, however it doesn’t look the solar panels you might be used to.
 The smart flower can produce significantly more electricity than a rooftop solar panel system.
The smart flower system contains a dual-axis tracker that makes it possible for its petals to follow the sun.
It produces power for households and business where cells which contain harness energy from sun.
It is self containing, it means that it contain all of the hardware and other components within itself so it can be easily installed and disassembled.

Project Implementation Method

The aim of this paper is to design and construct a solar photovoltaic system that can receive a maximum power from sun. Two solar panels, two stepping motors and one Atmega IC were used in this design. One of the panels rotates 200 steps in a complete round and 200 voltage samples are received from the stepping motor to be carried to the main panel, which commands the best movement toward the best position. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) has been conducted using an online method. As such, the proposed system has also been tried via MATLAB software. The simulation results confirm the proposed approach.
