The Project Smart Shopping Using Augmented Reality will provide detail description of a product to user also it will help user to try product visually on them or any shopping product like furniture , home accessories they wanted to purchase they can visually try it that’s what SSUAR will going to be for future

+Smart Shopping is for shoppers to try on different clothes in front of an AR mirror or try product online at their home.

+It Provides Customized User Experience to the shoppers

+To enjoy AR-powered experiences, the end users don’t need any additional hardware.

Project Objectives

Augmented reality has been taking a central role in the shopping experience in recent years and retailers are exploring new ways to utilize this tool. In this project we presents the implementation of Augmented Reality in the retailing side by using Glasses through which we can easily put the power of the products in the hand of customers that creates interesting opportunities for the users to engage with a brand, service or product

The objective is to overcome the gap between online and offline worlds in the retail industry and it seems to benefit both the customer and the retailer. Thus, there seem to be an interesting challenge for the retail industry to explore its usage in improving the in-store experience.

Project Implementation Method

New tech requires new thinking. Old design models rarely translate successfully into new technology solutions. Instructional designers need something like ADDIE if they are going to effectively design from new technologies like augmented reality. In order to ensure effective learning outcomes from educational courseware or mobile application education development, careful planning are required before the development process begins. ADDIE Instructional Design Model is used in this mobile AR application development methodology. The ADDIE model for instructional system design (ISD) is a basic model that can be applied to any kind of learning solution. The ADDIE model has five steps processes namely, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation

Analysis Phase

In this phase, analysis was done to identify the need to develop the AR application. The analysis phase involves are requirement analysis, task analysis and instructional analysis. The activities involve are identifying the problem statement.

Design Phase

The design phase deals with learning objectives, assessment instruments, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, and lesson planning and media selection. The design phase should be systematic and specific. Systematic means a logical, orderly method of identifying, developing and evaluating a set of planned strategies targeted for attaining the project’s goals. Specific means each element of the instructional design plan needs to be executed with attention to details.

Development Phase

The development phase is where the developers create and assemble the content assets that were created in the design phase. Programmers work to develop and/or integrate technologies. Testers perform debugging procedures. The project is reviewed and revised according to any feedback given.

Implementation Phase

During the implementation phase, we will implement the design model into system and don’t have to work whole process again .it will just add model to existing system and don’t have to wait to implementation of software

Evaluation Phase

The evaluation phase consists of two parts: formative and summative. Formative evaluation is present in each stage of the ADDIE process. Summative evaluation consists of tests designed for domain specific criterion-related referenced items and providing opportunities for feedback from the users

Benefits of the Project

Our project smart shopping using augmented reality will allow user to try the product virtually in store or at their home (by using smartphones). This will help user to select the product according to their space and their requirement area.

  • According to  research, 75% of customers expect new technologies for better experiences. 
  • That very research states that 84% of customers believe the experience is just as important as the product itself.

So what experiences are consumers looking for? 

  • 72% of customers purchased items they didn’t plan to buy because of augmented reality.
  • 71% of customers shopped more when they used AR. 
  • 61% preferred stores with AR experiences. 
  • 55% say AR makes shopping more fun!
  • 40% are ready to pay more if they test products with AR. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Kinect sensor will be use in this project to achieve objectives.
