On one hand, a variety of sensors embedded into smartphones or vehicles allow a person to record observations such as Wi-Fi fingerprints, video clips, road conditions or traffic congestion levels, which can be valuable to others. On the other hand, the use of mobile devices allows people to break time and space barriers to share and exchange information and knowledge. Throughout the world, automobile parking space is a resource that is often scarce due to the popularity of automobiles in urban areas. Often, drivers have to spend time in addition to fuel looking for a spot, which could lead to lateness as well as additional air pollution Improving access to real-time parking availability information has the potential to improve lot utility, energy efficiency, and time savings. Real-time parking information is a valuable commodity in situations where alternative parking locations are available. A survey showed that out of over 480 drivers, 30% changed their intended parking destination after seeing road signs indicating open parking elsewhere. The ability to access information about the availability of spaces in parking lots can change rapidly, so it is ideal to provide this information on a mobile phone application. Monitoring and logging parking space availability is a difficult task to perform for several reasons. We are providing a system where driver will find accurate parking for his vehicle and can pre reserve his desired place to park his vehicle using our smart parking application.

Project Objectives

Considering the increase of urban population and traffic congestion, smart parking is always a strategic issue to work on, not only in the research field, but also from economic interests. Now drivers can more efficiently find satisfying parking spaces with smart parking services. The existing and ongoing works on smart parking are complicated and trans disciplinary. While deploying a smart parking system, cities, as well as urban engineers, need to spend a very long time to survey and inspect all the possibilities. Moreover, many varied works involve multiple disciplines, which are closely linked and inseparable. To give a clear overview, we introduce a smart parking ecosystem and propose a comprehensive and thoughtful classification by identifying their functionalities and problematic focuses. we present a parking monitoring system that uses crowdsourcing in combination with mobile phone sensors to provide accurate, reliable real-time parking availability information. We present a study of the use of the application on a university campus to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Project Implementation Method

Failures of iOT ? iOT is a successful solution but its has too much coast. ? In case of using iOT technique we have to place a sensor in each slot ? Each sensor must connected with a microcontroller ? Each sensor must connect with a power source. ? Incase of using server a regular and effective internet source is compulsory. ? Change of behavior with Environment, too much hotness and coldness effect sensor progress. ? Can not applicable in open street or roadside parking. ? Must be applicable in accurate parking lot. Failure Of Geofence ? We can create maximum 100 geofence in an mobile application. ? We found Minimum accuracy on cellular data was 20 meter ? We found minimum accuracy on Wi-Fi data was 50 meter ? Entrance Detection was too late i.e. after 30-40 second ? Exit Detection was too late i.e. after 40-50 second What We used? ? We use simple GPS ? a formula for calculation of distance between two points ? we get latitude and longitude of each parking slot ? We get live location of user and get latitude

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The objective of the smart car parking system is to create the parking slots easier for the client to select the best slot as per their convenient in a rapid way The objective of Smart Parking is to: ? To develop a user friendly and adaptable system that can be implemented in a parking lots (on street, off street and multi – level parking) to ease the parking hassles. ? To create an impact and experience with integrated smart parking solutions this enables quick, faster accessibility with single space detection, parking guidance on real-time and allow guests to reserve the parking slot. ? Provide smart solution which reduces the travel time, carbon emission, search time, traffic congestions in the city. In addition, it improves traffic flow within the parking lot with efficient design and creating a safer ecosystem for the guests.

? We use simple GPS ? a formula for calculation of distance between two points ? we get latitude and longitude of each parking slot ? We get live location of user and get latitude and longitude after each second. ? After each second application check user’s point distance with every parking slot ? If distance is less than 3 meter means that user have entered in that slot. ? We use an API and a SQL database for managing user activity. ? We get accuracy on 2-3 meters which was very high as compare to geofence technique.
