An smart drip irrigation AI based system which will lessen the wastage of water and also take care of the plants with respect to their needs, Just opening the tap water and watering the plant for minutes is an old and useless technique which is something of a luxury that we cannot afford anymore because of the upcoming shortage of water, so with modern day problems we need modern day solution, with this project we are going to do drip irrigation but with weather forecast, humidity, temperature, moisture, and some other things to make a smart calculation about whether the plant needs water right now or not.

Project Objectives

The name of the project is Aab E Zareen. It is basically a drip irrigation system basically limiting the use of water. It uses the automated irrigation system to pour the water in the form of drops where needed. There are soil sensors deployed to check the resistance of the soil. There is less resistance in moisturized soil and relatively more resistance otherwise. The automated irrigation system will check the resistance of the soil with the help of these sensors and will start the motor to pour the drops of water where necessary. Once the water level is reached to the requirement, the motor will stop working, thus cutting the supply of further water. Also, there will be flowmeters attached with the water tank to check the flow of water. It will check how much water is being sent out and how much is coming back after the motor has stopped working. Based on the calculation of the flowmeter, it will display how much water we have saved today on the small LCD screen. It will also have connection with weather forecasting through an android application. The water will be deployed accordingly. When the temperature will be high, plants will need more water and the automated system will water them accordingly; similarly, when the temperature will be low, less water will be deployed relatively. In addition, if there is a chance of rain, there will be no deployment of the water at all.

Project Implementation Method

Project will be first implemented in home gardens because according to some reports, home users are wasting 70 percent of their water with old watering techniques, so we are going to implement it first in home gardens because it is small to control and requires less investment, and after that we are going to move on to the commercial gardening of vegetables.

Benefits of the Project

It is no secret that drip irrigation is the future of our plant watering and vegetation but we need something more then just drip irrigation to save more water.

With just implementing drip irrigation we can save 65 percent water, but with our smart AI based watering system we can save more water, because simple drip irrigation is a timer based system but our system analyze the moisture, humidity, weather forecast etc to make a calculation whether it will be good time to start watering plants or not.

Punjab, Which literally means "A land of five rivers" is going to have water shortage in 2025, so by implementing our system soon enough we can start saving water, we can provide proofs of water savings too which are undeniable.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Our project will use a Microcontroller known as Atmega2560,

it will be connected to the internet the whole time,

it will use moisture, soil, humidity, and forecast sensor.

it will get the forecast from the internet,

it will save your plant data on the cloud and also show you data on its app.

to do the drip irrigation we are going to use a 100W diaphragm pump which will drip the water and the remaining water will be put back into the system.
