Different types of wireless network technology such as an internet, WIFI, GSM makes the Home Automation system more effective. Using these technology home appliances are easy to control from far distance through the android or web based application. To build a smart and intelligence home is now very possible by combining IoT and Home automation system

Here we design Home Automation project based on IoT using the rasberry Pi and different sensors to control electronics appliances and devices and make a smart home automation system. The microcontroller is connected to internet using Ethernet cable and the mobile device or pc is connected to internet. User has to login to control the home appliance. User can control the electrical devices from any-where in the world. But now for demonstration lacking of real IP we have to connect the mobile devices or pc and microcontroller within the same network. User also watches the present condition of electrical devices through this Mobile application. An Anti-Door Lock, Weapon Detection system, and a thief alarm also added in this project. Sms alert system that can send sms to user if anyone trying to enter room or security risk occurred. Detecting human beings accurately in a visual surveillance system is crucial for diverse application areas including abnormal event detection, human gait characterization, congestion analysis, person identification and fall detection for elderly people.

Project Objectives

Using the microcontroller technology we design a Home Automation System where the entire electrical item will be controlled. Using the internet people can also monitor room temperature, Face recognition , Weapon Detection, detect human in room through the user friendly Mobile Application and also makes a sms notification system. Comparing to others this system is low cost, attractive user friendly interface which is platform independent and it’s very easy to install. After implementation of all functions, the system is tested in different stages and it works successfully as a prototype.

Raspberry Pi , which is the IoT computer that will control the devices that comprise the home automation system. Receiver and transmitter modules, which receive signals from, and transmit signals to, the system and respond accordingly. There is also the temperature and humidity sensor which is connected to the microcontroller which sends the signal to it then the micrcontroller is connected with Bluetooth module which will send all the information to the Mobile Application or notify user about the current stats of the room such as motion, temperature and live streaming of the room.

Project Implementation Method

After implementation of all functions, the system is tested in different stages and it works successfully as a prototype.

At the beginning of the application, the system authorization is required for the users. This login process is same for all users. They will submit valid authorized username and password. After the authentication process explained above, the user is waited for category selection. If the user clicks on one of the links below the icons, the user will be redirected to a new page related to the clicked category adjustments. There is also a sign out preference on the screen, which allows the user to log out from the system.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

you can control your home appliances using mobile application by going through login factor authentication also you can add new users you can choose which room you want to operate also you can check notification if any Alerts occured. there is also interface to connect mobile to system via bluetooth. home appliances such as light bulb or Door Lock system is also automatically functional upon face recognition. there is also the system of monitoring room temperature and humidity. also fan and AC will automatically act depend upon current room temperature. Everything is stored in firebase database so there would be no loss of data and conflict. Weapon detection system and emergency call is also added in this system which enhance the home security.we can make our home smart and efficient by using this kind of system.
