This chapter is discussed about the projects background, also the problem statement, the objectives of the project and also the projects scope. A smart helmet comprises of constant synchronized working of a controlling unit and a controlled unit. The controlling part comprises of the helmet that controls the later part. The synchronization between the two parts is done by constant communication between the two units via wireless communication for effective controlling. The wireless communication provides maneuverable to the rider. Hence making it easy to use for safety.

Now a days, Motorbike is a very convenient as well as economical form of transportation. So people are using it for their purposes but meanwhile it has various serious concerns with riders as well as pedestrian’s safety. Maximum number of people do not wear helmet while starting their ride and then they had to bear the consequences. Bike accidents are increasing rapidly due to carelessness of riders and due to many other reasons. The trauma faced by a rider whenever a motor-cyclist is involved in a high-speed fatal accident without the use of a helmet is very fearsome and causes a lot of fatalities. Wearing a protective helmet can minimize the shock from collision, and can save a precious life. Many countries are enforcing rules and regulations that make sure the motor-cycle's rider is wearing a helmet while mounting their motorbike.
So this motivates us to do a project for the safety of a bike rider. Our project is to make such a system which will only let the rider start a ride when he will wear his safety helmet otherwise he will not able to start his motor bike. Whenever rider wears his safety helmet, this helmet will send a signal to bike ignition controller, then it will allow the ride to start a bike. So by implementing this system one can make sure that everyone on the road, riding a bike, is much safer now. This project is helpful for parents, who are always worried about their children’s safety while they are using motorbike. This project is also helpful for Traffic police to implement law of wearing helmet. Another aspect of the project is that it can be used as a mandatory tool for monitoring and control for motorbike taxis which are a new trend in the under developed countries.

Benefits of the ProjectThe smart helmet focuses on prevention of accidents on motorbikes by ensuring helmet utilization via technology. The compulsory use of helmet is made possible by the restriction of use with the help of modules designed for the Motorbikes ignition.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableResults and Discussion
In a developing country like Pakistan where majority of the public uses two wheelers method for daily commute. The protection from road accidents is a major concern for the public’s safety. The system helps as a reminder to the rider to use the helmet.
Results
The output from the system is a system that simply limits or allows the use of the motorbike without the HU. Making the HU as another key to the .Through this project the safety campaign for passenger safety awareness can be put rerouted from forced fines to forced implementation.
