Smart Gas Safety System
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryA wireless safety device for gas leakage detection is proposed. The device is intended for use in household safety where appliances and heaters that use natural gas and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) may be a source of risk. The system also can be used for other applications in the industry or plants that depend on LPG and natural gas in their operations. The system design consists of two main modules: the detection and transmission module, and the receiving module. The detection and transmitting module detect the change of gas concentration using a special sensing circuit built for this purpose. This module checks if a change in concentration of gas has exceeded a certain pre-determined threshold. If the sensor detects a change in gas concentration, it activates and audiovisual alarm and sends a signal to the receiver module. The receiver module acts as a mobile alarm device to allow the mobility within the house premises along with taking proper measures to ensure safety at first hand by closing the main valve off, so gas do not flow further.
Also our project targets "AIR QUALITY INDEX(AQI)",we are crreating our own AQI that will tell the quality of air that we breathe in,also shows the real time data on the internet.
AQI will include PM2.5,PM10,O3,NO2,SO2,CO which is the standard AQI of JAPAN and the system is still not in Pakistan presently. We are also creating our own server where real time data will be shown.
Project Objectives-
- To make an inexpensive device that can save a lot of lives.
- Reliable
- Efficient
- Commercialize
- Provides real time monitoring of Air around
- Maintatin the record of AQI
- Provide analysis as well of AQI
The project is done by following the V-method.
Verification phasesRequirements analysis: First we have a requirement phasein which the requirements are identified. The user tests are designed in this phase.
System Design:Then we have a system design phase. A system design was made to achieve the over all objectives. Testing of the system is done in this phase.
Architecture Design:Then we have the architecture design phase which includes the list of modules, their interface relationships. Integration testing design is carried out in this phase.
Module Design:Then in module design phase system design is broken down into smaller units or modules. Unit test design is developed in this stage.
Validation phasesUnit Testing: Unit test plans are executed to eliminate bugs at code level or unit level. Unit testing verifies that the smallest entity can function correctly when isolated from the rest of the codes/units.
Integration Testing:Integration Test Plans are developed during the Architectural Design Phase. These tests verify that units created and tested independently can coexist and communicate among themselves.
System Testing:System Tests Plans are developed during System Design Phase.System Testing verifies that functional and non-functional requirements have been met.
User Acceptance Test:User Acceptance Test(UAT) Plans are developed during the Requirements Analysis phase.UAT verifies that delivered system meets user's requirement and system is ready for use in real time.
Benefits of the Project1.Save lives
2.Prevent mishaps
3.Commercializable
4.Air Quality Real Time monitoring
