Energy is the burning issue in Pakistan, researchers are thinking how to overcome this issue. In order to overcome this issue this project is designed to save energy, the title of this project is "Smart Energy Saving Innovative Homes". This project is consists of two parts, one is the hardware and the other one is software. Hardware components consists of :Arduino Mega, Relay module, WiFi module.
Software components consists of :Arduino software.
Sensors used:HC-SRO4 Range sensor, Temperature &  humidity sensor, Light sensor.
By this idea we can control and monitor home appliances, security systems, and save energy as much as it is possible.

The objective of this project is to develop a system that allows a user to control and monitor
electrical home appliances remotely using the internet. This system will be a powerful and
flexible tool that will offer this service at any time, and from anywhere with the constraints of the
technologies being applied. Possible target appliances include a fan, bulbs, air conditioners, and
anything with an electrical interface. The system will also detect accidental gas leakages and
water levels. For example, if the user is sitting in a room and feeling cold and he/she may want
their heater to be automatically turned on, and then turned off after some time when the room
temperature is maintained. User may also want to control the speed of the fan according to the
room temperature. In those cases, this project will help to control home appliances automatically
according to the temperature.

•    To design a model for connecting various home electrical appliances that uses Wi-Fi technology as a network infrastructure
 
•    To develop an Android prototype for monitoring and controlling home electrical appliances via Internet
 

Project Implementation Method

 

Implementation

 This project presents a design and prototype implementation of new home automation system that uses Wi-Fi technology as a network infrastructure connecting its parts. One phase of the project constitutes the hardware interface module and the other one is software communication module. At the heart of this system is the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller which is also capable of functioning as a micro web server and the interface of all hardware modules. 

We will develop an android prototype which will use Wi-Fi technology as network
infrastructure for controlling home appliances remotely.
? In this Arduino based project, we are going to control DC fan speed according to the
room temperature. 
? It will be accomplished by the data communications between Arduino, LCD, DHT11
sensor Module and DC fan that is controlled by using PWM. PWM is a technique by
using which we can control voltage.

  • The efficient use of the home automation systems will be beneficial in the reduction of utility bills and saving money.
  • Increase electrical appliances’ energy efficiency by remotely powering off systems and appliances when they are not in use.
  • The ability to turn off lights automatically and remotely will help to save users’ time and provide convenience.
  • The project is beneficial to the grandparents who usually stay at home alone and not able to walk.
