Smart Blind Stick
In this Smart stick there is a sensor which senses the obstacles or walls from 1 or half meter range then this stick vibrates & makes buzz sound. This Smart Stick warns the blind person that there is an obstacle or wall in-front of him/her. Then that person will be warned from obstacle or wall.
Smart Blind Stick is a device designed to help guide the visually impaired by detecting objects and portray the information to them in the form of sound beeping or vibration signal. This reduces the human effort and gives better understanding of the surrounding.
The main objective of this is to provide an application for blind people to detect the obstacles in various directions, an innovative stick is designed for the visually disabled people for their easy navigation.
Existing systems which provides guidance to blind. Smart vision use ultrasonic sensors or laser sensors to detect obstacles in front of the blind by transmitting the wave and reception of reflected waves. It produces either an audio or vibration in response to detected obstacles to warn blind. Some systems like UltraCane help blind people by collecting information through sensors and then transmitting recommendations through vibration or sound message to the user.
The stick consists of sensors, microcontroller, rf transmitter and receiver. The ultrasonic sensor detects the obstacle whether the object is close to them. If it is close to them, the buzzer will turns on, this indicates them that there are standing in front of them.
It uses two ultrasonic sensors HC SR 04 to detect the depth below or the obstacles in between.
