In shopping the systems which are used for online shopping are very effective but there are not many efficient systems for manual shopping therefore we are working on a system in which will provide an app to our customer which they can use for inquiring information like price, category, available counter brands and specification of the products. The app will provide an interface for the customer to search the products by their names and using filters. Users will be able to add products in their cart by scanning the products through their app in which we provide barcode scanner. After adding all the products in their cart user will also be able to remove an existing product and system will save their bill against a unique id. Customer will be able to pay their bill at the allocated counter which will be based on a scheduling algorithm. Staff check their bill details by entering their bill id and receive the payment from the customer. After receiving the payment accountant kill the tags or remove it from the product using reader. At the exit door, we use HS panel which will check if the tags are not killed nor removed then an alarm system will be activated. The data collected from these systems will be analyzed to see the analytics of the products such as mostly purchased items, on-demand products, least budget products etc. Customers can also provide his feedback and can also request for a particularly product.

Project Objectives

The main goal of our project is to facilitate to customer by saving their time and provide them an efficient system, because mostly in manual shopping it’s difficult for customer to find the product’s location, their prices and they get confused while comparing the total price of all the products with the budget in the pocket so we provide an app to our customer which they need to install that app in their phone and easily search about the product where their location their price, categories, and specifications. Customers can make their bills at their own phone by scanning the product bar code through the bar code scanner in mobile app and check if the bill is exceeding from their budget customer can remove it from the bill before going to counter through this, we save the time of our customer. We also facilitate our staff by saving their time and also make it easy for them to get bill details by entering customer shopping unique id they don’t need to scan all the product they only get the whole bill details by entering id and kill or remove the tags from the products it for security purpose if someone stole any product and tag are not removed or kill alarm will be activated at exit door and we catch that person easily. The system will also provide us competitive advantages by saving our customer time using an efficient system rather than a traditional system which leads us to our ultimate goals like an increase in sale, more profit, and fewer men power use.

Project Implementation Method

We are implementing our system using prototype for requirement gathering, also water Fall model and for technologies we are using ontologies in sematic web, SPARQL for accessing data and we use react native for our app development. We are using react native framework instead of android studio and iOS application development because it provides us a platform where develop only one application which run at every platform like android, IOS and web, so it useful for us and save our time. We are also replacing the database with ontology because ontology in a Semantic Web is that we can increase data generation, access, flow and integration according to the useful standards of World Wide Web. Also, it provides us an inference from AI and fetching results using web infrastructure. Searching becomes easier using ontologies due to keyword-based search. It will also help us with synonym capturization and graph pattern can be easily getting ontologies, the main feature of SPARQL which will impress SQL is ability to federate queries across different repositories. We can reuse and perform integration in Semantic Web and SPARQL can be used to access relational data as well as RDF. For Security purpose we use hardware which are HS panel at exit door which check that tags are killed or removed if they are not when these product pass from exit door alarm will be activated, reader is use to kill the tags and tags which are attach with the product.

Benefits of the Project

Customer will be able to search the products details and location instead of roaming in the whole shopping mall. Customer only enter the product’s name and also using the filter like price, category and brand specifications. Our system will save the time of customer by providing them a facility to make their bills at their own phone by scanning the bar code through the bar code scanner in app. Our system will be able to provide a facility to our customer to give feedback through we can improve our management and also customer suggest us which product they need which are not available in our shopping mall. Our system will facilities our staff that they don’t need to scan the whole products of customer and make their bill. Customer will make their bill at their own phone, staff will only enter the id and get the details of customer’s bill in this way fewer men power will use. Through this our sale also increase because the mall where traditional system uses customers have to wait in long queue to pay their bills. So mostly customer visit that shopping mall because through this system they can do their shopping only in minutes not in hours.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In our final deliverable system customer will be able to search the product, generate the bill and give feedback. Customer search the product by name and using filter when user enter name it will search that product name without case sensitivity and run a SPARQL query in the ontology to search the product if it is available then system shows product’s details and if not avaible then it displays an error message. Customer generate the bill by scanning the bar code through bar code scanner in application when customer scan any product it will shows its price it tabular format that product price search using SPARQL query in our ontology. When customer save it’s bill it save in our ontology against a unique id, when customer move to counter staff don’t need to scan all the product staff only enter the order id of that customer and a query run in ontology to search the whole bill details against that id.
