Growing crops is an art, a typical farmer does not have proper knowledge about it. The farmer does not have modern resources to battle against natural conditions and prepare accordingly.
Smart Agri Farm helps to automates the process of growth monitoring of various crops. Purpose of Smart Agri is that it help farmers to keep track on every aspect such as field , crop and weather condition, monitor plant health and give crop recommendations. It utilizes the real time environment data for efficient environment monitoring which will enable farmers to do smart farming and increase their overall yield and quality of products.
Objective of Smart Agri farm is to get real time data like soil humidity, temperature and weather for efficient environment monitoring which will enable farmers to do smart farming and increase their overall yield and quality of products. Pakistan has low yield per acre because farmers do not have upto date environment information as well as crop health monitoring system. So goal of our proposed system is to increase the productivity and quality of crops.
The system consists of three components such as Farm Module, Smart Agri Web Portal and Smart Agri Mobile Application.
The Farm Module comprise of all sensory hardware required to sense the environment variables like soil humidity, air humidity, air temperature, light intensity, precipitation, crop images. This data is then sent to Smart Agri Web Portal for analysis and visualization.
Smart Agri Web Portal preprocess the received data and generates recommendations as well as useful reports.
Smart Agri Mobile Applciation is an android based application used to get useful insights from the farm as well as provide interfaces to control the farm environment.
Agriculture is the backbone of a nation’s economy. Without agriculture, any nation’s progress is hindered because it is the key sector in economy development that not only provide food but also labour and services.
It is always difficult to prepare land for agriculture crop production and provide basic environmental resources to the crops for growth. Smart Agri Farm is a system that helps farmers to moderate environment conditions for crops. It provides basic environmental resources like water, light etc. and helps farmer monitor plant growth by getting live views of crops from the field alongwith the recommendations.
As discussed earlier, there are three modules. First there is farm module that consist of soil humidity sensor, temperature sensor, air humidity sensor, camera, light, fan, water sprinkler, GSM module, and associated microcontroller with embedded code.
Second is the web portal hosted on recpetive website where data is processed and analyzed.
Third is the android application which will be used by the farmer to monitor and control the smart farm.
