Project Summary

In Pakistan, many Schools and Colleges are missing the opportunity to manage their administrative activities using technological advancements such as Mobile Phones, Tablets, Computers and Internet. Currently it is difficult for Schools and Colleges to know in current time how many students are attending classes, the Parents’ contact details of each student, or generating reports on school fee payments for each student. We are going to provide a solution for these difficulties.  We are going to develop a School/College Management system. This is thought to contribute positively to the development of education in Pakistan as the system will give privileges to school Administrator to manage different activities of students and teachers.

Project Objectives

The main objectives of the proposed system is to automate and manage all the business processes and operation of School/College. The main goal is to develop an RFID card reader based School management system for smooth and timely management of the Schools/Colleges.  

The high level Objectives of the School/College management system are as follows.

1. Efficient student life cycle management.
2. Achieving papers less working environment.
3. The proposed system will provide the facility to automatically send messages to parents on different special occasions.
4. Automation of manual process.
5. RFID card based access to student academic record and fees
6. Editing, adding and updating of records which results in proper resources management of School/College Data.
7. Provide the facility to generated different reports for example student transcript, character certificate etc.
8. Provide the Searching facilities based on various keywords Such as classes, teachers etc.

The proposed system should contain the following modules.

3. Fees Module.
4. Examination Module.
5. Download Module.

Student module.

The system has user friendly Student Module that will enable School/College Administrators and

Other key users to do the following functions:

• Admission Management
• Add, View and Manage student and guardian details
• Generate PDF reports of Student profiles.

Employee Module

School/College Management System also has user friendly Employees Module that will enable

School/College Administrators and other key users to do the following functions:

• Create employees and Manage Employee details.
• Employee Leaves and Leave-types management
• Employee attendance management
• Manage and Assign employee Category, Department, Positions etc.

Fees Module

School/College Management System also has user friendly Free Module that will enable School/College

Administrators and other key users to do the following functions:

• Create and manage Fee-Category and Particulars
• Create Fee-Collection schedule and enter collected fees
• Contain the Remaining Fee.

Examination Module

School/College Management System also has user friendly Examination Module that will

Enable School/College Administrators and other key users to do the following functions:

•  Create and manage Exams.
•  Enter scores of exams.
•  View Assessment dashboard and set grading levels
•  Generate PDFs of report cards.
• Generate Exam Papers from Bank of Question.
• Set The Positions of Students in whole School and College.

The Proposed system is a web based application and we will develop this application in Laravel 6 for Backend, Bootstrap 4 for Frontend and MySQL for Database.

School/College management systems make it easy to manage the student's records, staff records, helps with the admission process, fee collection, keeping track of students’ progress report, etc. Conventionally all this work used to be done manually which takes a lot of time. With the help of  School/College management systems, all this work can be done automatically. Ultimately school/colleges will be able to get the extra free time that they use to improve the academic delivery of the college. It carries a number of benefits for student, faculty, and institution. Some of them are given below.

A college management system comes up with complete features to handle examination processes in your institute. It can manage examination operation such generation of Exam Papers, preparation of results.

A college management system can manage the complete record of students and employees.

Data Management.

Student data management is the most complicated process for any type of educational institutions. With student information system, college administrator can store and retrieve data easily.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The overall system has two main components.

1. Web application.
2. RFID id-cards workbench and RFID card reader.

Web application.

The web application will be web based standalone application which can be installed on cloud as well as on local server, and the application consist of the following parts.

1. Database Management system.
2. Main Dashboard.
3. System Modules (students, employees, courses, attendance).
4. System Portals (Admin, teacher, students, parents)

RFID id-cards workbench and RFID card reader.

It is a software application which will be used to design and print student id-cards with RFID tags. The hardware part will be the RFID card reader which will be interfaced with the web application. The students will be able to access their records through their id-cards using RFID card reader.
