This data will be forwarded to the concerned authorities so that they may take relevant action
Project ObjectivesIn Karachi, and all around the world, we are faced with this problem of potholes. In such a situation, our pothole mapper will come in handy, as it will show potholes around the map, with the data collected by us. This data can then be forwarded to the State, or made public for further information.
Project Implementation MethodFirst, we will gather data from potholes and train our tensorflow model. Once, our model is trained, we will then use the model to detect potholes on a mobile app through sensor readings. The model will run locally and will not require internet connection. Once, internet connection is restored the app will send data to the server where it will be stored and mapped on the google maps for web app as well as the mobile app.
Benefits of the ProjectPothole detector and mapper tries to achieve:
- A platform for the State to get information about their roads
- Bump free rides
- Reduced car damage
1) A mobile app that will show potholes on Maps, along with information that will be reflected on the Web app as well.
2) A web app dashboard that will show region wise, severity wise potholes and also show potholes on the google map
3) A rest API that will serve as a mediator between the mobile and web app
