Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryThe project is reducing the energy consumption using nanoparticles.
First we need to determine experimental data of energy consumption without addition of nanoparticles in compressor lubricant from current and voltage taken with the help of data logger.
Then we do mixing process of nanoparticles in lubricant using hot plate apparatus. Left it for more than one day and check its solubility. If sedimentation does occur, your test is successful.
Then we again go for experimental data gathering using lubircant with nanoparticles and note the energy consumption. Then we do a series of calculations for validation of our objectives.
Project ObjectivesOur objective is to reduce energy consumption using nanoparticles according to the mass percentage of nanoparticles added.

Project Implementation MethodIn order to apply this project in domestic areas or commercially we can produced nanolubricants in mass quantities and use them instead of conventional lubricants utilized in refrigerator compressor in order to improve their performance.
Benefits of the ProjectThe implementation of this project may help in reducing the power used by refrigerators on a large scale and result in saving electricity. This project promotes the responsible use of resources in industries and domestically.
