Background: According to our extensive literature review, algorithms for sign language recognition systems have been created and discussed. However, there is still a lack of implementation of sign language recognition systems, particularly for Pakistani Sign Language (PSL).

We plan to use Artificial Techniques to capture and detect PSL hand gestures real time and recognise the signs being made. 

We will compile a code using Deep Learning to train a CNN model and test it both offline and online using PSL images.

The trained model will be implemented on a web application where users can input their images using the device's camera.

Project Objectives

To develop an application for the real time recognition of Pakistani Sign language using deep learning

Project Implementation Method

In the implementation we will going to use python language/html Css and java script to develop our algortihm for training and testing. Then we will design our front end and back end of our web application. 

Dataset details: The dataset was collected by native sign language signers from Ziauddin institute of speech therapy

Benefits of the Project

This project aims to introduce an application that will aid in eliminating the communication barriers that occur between the deaf and non deaf community. 

Such gaps often occur between deaf children and their non deaf parents during educational guidance. Young learners such as these can use this application to learn, revise and study their Pakistani Sign Language alphabets. It can also be used by teachers of special insitutes.

Lastly, this application is the start of interactive technology for the deaf community,hence tackling barriers between special and healthy persons of this country.
