The regional weather forecasts are generic in nature and do not provide ample information about weather conditions in a specific area. In order to acquire more accurate and precise weather data from the local area, we need a local weather monitoring project. This local weather monitoring project employs four different sensors for the monitoring of temperature, light, humidity, and rain parameters. The project is also IOT enabled which means that remote monitoring of local weather conditions is possible. Based on the information provided by this weather station project, heavy rains, excessive temperatures, storms, hurricanes, and snowfalls can be early forecasted and therefore measures can be taken to avoid natural disasters and catastrophes. 

The suggested architecture ,a lowcost weather station that remotely stores climate information on a database server, enabling access from anywhere via any device.

Project Implementation Method

•The method divided into two parts which are hardware and software development part.

•The hardware development involves the circuit construction and develops the prototype.

•Meanwhile, the software part involves the IoT coding, circuit schematic diagram, circuit simulation and data acquisition.

•By using different types of sensor to monitoring the weather parameter that are temperature, humidity, rain, and pressure quality the system will be able to display the weather condition by an analysis about the current weather with the sensor value data.

The processor and sensors are :-

1. Raspberry Pi: IoT based real time weather monitoring system is developed using Raspberry Pi platform. In proposed system architecture ARM11 processor is centre core.

2.  Humidity and Temperature Sensor (DHT11):

This sensor is an easy to use temperature and humidity sensor with attractive cheap price. It allows us to get both temperature and humidity data from single board instead of using two.

3. BMP180 Barometric Pressure Sensor:

bmp180 sensor is a printed circuit board, which includes a high-precision absolute barometric / atmospheric pressure sensor (atmospheric pressure is the force per unit area that air exerts on Earth’s surface), it has a measurement range between 300 and 1100 hPa (Hecto Pascal) and an error margin of 0.03 hPa, 

4. Rain sensor module FC-37

The rain sensor module is an easy tool for rain detection. It can be used as a switch when raindrop falls through the raining board and also for measuring rainfall
intensity. 

The Internet of Things (IoT) will connect the system with the user wireless and online checking.

Here we propose a smart weather reporting system over the internet. Our proposed system allows for weather parameter reporting over the internet. It allows the people to directly check the weather stats online without the need of a weather forecasting agency. System uses temperature, humidity as well as rain sensor to monitor weather and provide live reporting of the weather statistics. The system constantly monitors temperature using temperature sensor, humidity using humidity sensor and also for rain. The system constantly transmits this data to the microcontroller, which now processes this data and keeps on transmitting it to the online web server over a wifi connection. This data is live updated to be viewed on the online server system. Also system allows user to set alerts for particular instances, the system provides alerts to user if the weather parameters cross those values. Thus the IOT based weather reporting system provides an efficient internet based weather reporting system for users.
