Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryOur project resolves the problem of the person with arm disability and those who doesn't have their hands or they lost it in an accident. We will design a prosthetic limb that will help the person top perform their daily life activities like a normal person. Our product will also monitor the health of that person. Myoware muscle sensor will be used to control this prosthetic limb.
As we all know that human body is a perfectly tuned machine and if any part of our body is missing, there is no natural way to make that body part so prosthetic parts used instead of that. We are going to make Prosthetic Arm which will be controlled by electromyographic (EMG) signals generated by our muscle’s contraction. It’s for people with arm disability and those who doesn't have their hands or lost it in an accident. This device can help that person to perform daily activities (PDA) such as eating, drinking, picking things, dressing and do a lot of tasks after that the user will feel like they were performing all the activities with their natural limbs. It can be controlled by human veins and movement of our muscles.
Project ObjectivesTo make prosthetic limb which is the need of every person with arm disability to perform daily activities, it will improve old functions of prostheses and to add new functions in this. Prosthetic limbs hould restore and extend the capabilities of someone with an amputation.
Project Implementation MethodProsthetic Limb will be attached to persons body with the help of doctor, and Bipolar Limb Leads will be attached to uper muscle of arm. It can be controlled by human veins and movement of our muscles.
This product will be made by using these components Arduino, Servo motor, electromyographic (ad8232), 3D printed Robotic Arm, Temperature Sensor, BP Sensor, Power Adaptor, bipolar limb leads. These limb leads are used for getting the values by human veins and the movement of our muscles. Then those values will be compared with the values that are already stored in our dataset for the training purpose of our system. The result of this comparison will be used for the movement of fingers.
Benefits of the Project1. Our prosthetic arm will help the disabled persons to perform Daily Life Activities such as eating, drinking, picking things, dressing and do a lot of tasks after that the user will feel like they were performing all the activities with their natural limbs.
2. Our Product will also monitor the health of the person using it.
3. There are different Companies making prosthetic limb but their product is too costly and the cost of their product is 5000$ to 10,000$. But our Product will be cheaper than their prices.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable1. This is used to perform all the activities easily, we are performing in our daily life.
2. Helpful for all the handicapped persons.
3. EMG sensor is used for getting the signals/data from arm muscles.
