The transmission system is stressed so as to carry the electrical power without violating its transmission margin. Flexible AC Transmission system (FACTS) technology has been widely used for better utilization of existing power systems.
FACTS devices can be effectively used to damp power system oscillations so that the dynamic performance of the power system is improved. The Analysis of the performance of the power system using series FACTS device, thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC). The model will be able to improve the harmonics damping and improve the power factor of the system. This will decrease the losses and increase the transmission capabilities of the system.
Project ObjectivesThe main objective is to improve the harmonics damping and improve the power factor of the system.
Increase in efficiency of system and devices
Project Implementation Methodthis project uses arduino controller to check P.F using voltage and current of the transmission line. In respond TCSC will be activated and improve the power quality. For this testing a model will be design in which arduino will be used to operate TCSC, arduino will continuous monitor the power factor and display the results on LCD.
