PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY TRAINER
Project Area of Specialization Augmented and Virtual RealityProject Summary Summary:The summary of our project are:
A PV trainer is used in a laboratory for teaching purposes. It can be used as an educational instrument to teach different aspect related to PV.As per market survey and research this trainer is rarely available in Pakistan there for many universities import this trainer from other countries which will be quite expensive. This trainer is basically being design to make it cost effective.
Project Objectives Objective:The objective of our project are following:
- Economical prices of this trainer give it preference then to import it .
- A PV trainer is used in a laboratory for teaching purposes.
- It can be used as an educational instrument to teach different aspect related to PV.
- As per market survey and research this trainer is rarely available in Pakistan there for many universities import this trainer from other countries which will be quite expensive.
- This trainer is basically being design to make it cost effective.
The expected experiments which can performed on this trainer are :
- Checking NOTC of Solar Panels.
- Shading Analysis.
- Load and Weather Simulation.
- Checking efficiency by increasing temperature ranges.
- Sun tracking
- Dust Analysis.
- Checking Different Batteries Efficiency.
- Effect of series and parallel Connections with different loads.
- Comparison between mono and poly crystalline solar panels.
The benefits of our project are :
The system offers a wide variety of energy tests, observation and analysis of the performance of PV panels. Increases value in Pakistan’s market due to non availability of this trainer. Higher expectations definitely increase user’s demands. Economical prices of this trainer give it preference then to import it .
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe main purpose of our project is to determine the different experiments .We design 14 modules in work station 1 are DC voltmeter,DC ammeter,AC voltmeter,AC ammeter,Wattmeter,Resistive load,Inductive load,Capacitive load,Solar inverter,Pure sine wave inverter,Charge Controller,DC fixed multiple power supply,Digital Oscilloscope,Lead acid battery .In work station 2 we design stand consist of mono and poly crystalline solar panels. It is highly cost effective for the user which give it preference rather to import it.It offers wide variety of energy tests.Observation and analysis of the performance pv panels increases its value in Pakistan market due to non availability of this trainer.Observation of several experiments increases users know how, like checking of solar panels, dust analysis, weather simulations, sun tracking and many more.
- The Resistive Load consists of a module housing nine wire-wound power resistors arranged in two identical banks. Each bank consists of three resistors connected in parallel that can be switched on or off with toggle switches to obtain various resistance values. This allows the total (equivalent) resistance of each bank to be increased or decreased by steps.four safety banana jacks on the module front panel provide access to each resistor bank. The two resistor banks can be connected separately.,The Resistive Load is commonly used in conjunction with other basic load modules, like the Inductive Load and the Capacitive Load to experiment with the effects of different types of load on a circuit.
- The Lead-Acid Battery Pack is a half- size EMS module housing four 12 V lead-acid batteries connected in series.
- This power supply is desing to give five multiple fixed output in whicjh 5V and 3.7V…the first one is 3.7V And the second is 5V ,12V,24V and 48V…This supply is used for multiple purposes.
- Each time you charge deep cycle batteries with solar panels, it’s necessary to use a charge controller in the circuit in order to protect the battery from overcharging or from over discharging. We compare the efficency of mono and poly panels by shading ,sun tracking.
- A voltmeter, also known as a voltage meter, DC voltmeter is a measuring instrument, which is used to measure the DC voltage across any two points of electric circuit.Digital ammeter designs use a shunt resistor to produce a calibrated voltage proportional to the current flowing. The wattmeter is an instrument for measuring the electric power in watts of any given circuit.
- A digital storage oscilloscope (often abbreviated DSO) 138 is an oscilloscope which stores and analyses the signal digitallyrather than using analog techniques. It is now the most common type of oscilloscope in use because of the advanced trigger, storage, display and measurement features which it typically provides.
- The pure sine wave inverter and solar inverter are used to check the efficency and compare the output wave forms of both inverter using DSO.
