            Solar photovoltaic systems have developed as a prominent renewable source of energy owing to its eco-friendly nature, long lifetime, and low maintenance requirement. However, its conversion efficiency is very low. Different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques have been used to extract maximum power from the photovoltaic system. In this study, the perturb and observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm, which is practically implemented on an Arduino Uno board and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink under the same environmental conditions, is used to track the maximum power. Different parameters of a Simulink-based PV module and a practical photovoltaic module are obtained and compared. The main advantages of the P&O MPPT algorithm are its low cost and easy implementation. However, it may fail to track the maximum operating point under varying environmental conditions

Project Implementation Method

Different converters are reported for the PV system, such as Buck, Boost, Buck–Boost, and cuk converters, which are controlled to achieve MPPT operation [5]. In this paper, a boost converter along with a P&O MPPT algorithm is used to track the MPP. The MPPT algorithm varies the duty cycle (D) of the PWM signal fed to the converter’s switch. Figure 3 shows an illustrative diagram of the SPV system with the MPPT controller

Benefits of the Project

In this project, we have introduced a system that is very much important in the field of renewable, by using buck boost converter. We can easily achieve high efficiency more energy from PV cells using MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking Technique).
