Children with autism can find it hard to pay attention to others, communicate, understand other perspectives, and see the big picture. These challenges affect learning and development. Autism impacts children and adults in many ways but, many of the issues can be overcome or with small changes to how things are done, children and adults can access learning.

Pakistan Autism Learning System (PALS) is the software platform used to support the term “EDUTAINMENT”, i.e. providing education through entertainment. PALS is introducing a complete learning platform for education by digitalizing the whole curriculum for two classes (i.e. class KG & class 1). Besides learning, PALS is also giving the learners 3D tour of famous places of Pakistan through VR gear. PALS is also providing a bridge for communication for them to communicate and express their feeling.

Project Objectives

The main aim of our project is to make autistic children able to communicate and provide a
better learning platform.
1) To help them communicate and express their feelings.
2) To provide them a complete platform of education.
3) To provide them level-wise syllabus so that they can easily learn from it.
4) To help them control their tantrums and repetitive behavior.
5) To provide them 3D models so that they can explore places (in particular).
6) To polish their concentration skills by providing pictorial representation (e.g. flash cards).

Project Implementation Method

We are implementing our system in two different platforms i.e. mobile application and the desktop application. Desktop application will be used for the learning purpose while mobile application will be used for checking the progress report card and for the 3D tour.

Benefits of the Project

Families of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often report high levels of stress. This is a normal part of a family’s journey with ASD. Parents avoid to take their autistic child outside, we are providing them a 3D tour of Pakistan’s historical places with virtual reality.
One common problem evidenced by autistic children in learning is running around the classroom and not listening to the teacher, they cannot make focus on a particular things. e. To overcome all these challenges, our application can help children with ASDs to improve their social life in communicating with others while helping their parents to understand what the children really needs. Visual learning is the best key solution for the autistic children, through visual learning we provide them a curriculum at every level to help them in their development.
