Our project is Optimized Solar Generation monitoring and Control through IIoT SCADA. The main theme of our project is to control industrial processes locally or at remote locations and maintain efficiency, distribute data for smarter decisions, and communicate system issues to help mitigate downtime.
We will design SCADA for a solar power plant using Raspberry Pi 4. The other technologies involved in the project are MQTT, TCP/IP protocol, Node-Red, and IBM Cloud.
There is a huge need for this project in the heavy assets industries because we need accuracy, timely response, efficiency, control, and access to a huge setup remotely.
The objectives of the project Optimized Solar Generation Monitoring and Control through IIoT SCADA are:
To monitor the parameters of our system,
To control line incoming power
The second thing is to control the WAPDA input power depending on our load needs and solar generated power.
The load will not shift fully on the WAPDA supply in case of less power from solar side, but can shift according to the need i.e, 20%, 50% 70% or full.
First of all, we will design the hardware layout on the proteus, then the hardware design. After the hardware is done, software or programming side come.
SCADA will be created using TCP/IP protocol and MQTT. TCP/IP protocol will act as transmitter which send data to the RaspberryPi module. RaspberryPi send the command with addresses to the terminal unit by MQTT, if the address matched it will control or measure parameter and send it to the RPi. And thus from RPi data will be sent to the PC and can be visualized on the Node-Red dashboard
We will also create database on IBM Cloud and store data.
As the energy demand in Pakistan is increasing day by day. Solar energy is a clean way of generating electrical power and people are fulfilling their energy needs by mounting solar panels on their properties. As the demand increased there is more need to control the plant and get more power efficiently. This project will help to fulfill the needs
