Optimization of the Performance of PV system and its Techno-economic analysis
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryEnergy is a basic need for sustenance of life. The demand and usage of energy is constantly increasing day by day. As most of the energy production depends on the non-renewable energy such as fossil fuels, which are very expensive and are also responsible for pollution and global warming. So the world is trying to shift towards solar energy which is the cleaner source of energy. Solar Photovoltaic technology is one of the fastest emerging technology in the world. The output power and efficiency of the solar panel is influenced by the number of factors i.e. Temperature, Soiling and Radiation etc. The aim of this project is to minimize the losses caused by these factors and enhance the performance of the solar panel by adopting different methods and do techno-economic analysis.
Project ObjectivesObjectives of this project are:
To minimize the losses that occur in PV system due to above mentioned factors.
To implement Cooling, Cleaning and Tracking of PV panel jointly.
To do Techno-Economic analysis of PV based system
Methodology:
The methodology of this project contains following steps:
Tracking of Solar Panel
Cooling of Solar Panel
Cleaning of Solar Panel
Joint effect of Cleaning, Cooling and Tracking
Unlike the existing systems, advantage is its being able to produce electricity freely any need of fossil fuel and connection.
- The most unique and best feature of solar energy is its abundance in quantity available to our mother earth, if we use it to maximum levels it is not going to go any where until next five billion years.
- Solar energy plants are available for both small scale energy requirements and for larger scale energy requirements; it cops the market for both residential and industrial requirements.
Photovoltaic and solar-thermal panels generate free electricity by converting sunlight into electricity or transferring the sun's heat to heating and ventilation systems. The use of solar panels to generate energy provides many benefits, which include reductions in the costs associated with generating electricity.
