Optimization of a microgrid
our project is protection scheme for an optimized microgrid,our aim is to synchronize the solar,wind and hydro energy for which we will design voltage control inverter to synchronize the solar and wind energy because we can control solar and wind energy through voltage control inverter. both the energies will be controlled by one inverter. Hydro power give us AC voltage at output which we can't control so we will synchronize the voltage,phase and frequency.
in this project if one of the surces becomes down, the other sources will be available so ther will be no shutdown system. if one voltage drops then other sources will also drop their voltages. There will be minimum tripping mechanism.
To develop an optimized protection scheme for synchronization of voltage and frequency of variable sources connected to microgrid or Islanded mode. To increase the amount of power injected by renewable sources in microgrid. To enable the microgrid to meet load demand. To make the microgrid more relaible.
Our project will be implemented in microgrids and can also be operated in Islanded mode. Bsically this project will be helpful in remote areas. where grids systems are not available.
This system will be just like plug and play system. We will input them with diffrent sources. and we will get synchronized output. If a source get down then the load will be distributed on other sources. and the down system will be ger disconnected from the load and will be supplied to an alternate sources.
Hybrid power generation systems are implemented in many isolated aras i-e Swat,Kalam,Chitral etc. but there is no protection system for these hybrid systems, Which may cause damage of expensive machines and wiring and electronic components.
By implementing our project we will Protect the load from any damage. The consumers will be having no problem regarding protection.
The protection system will protect the sources from over loading and Also will be load disconnecting mechanism incase of overload.
If one of the voltage gets drop from given threshold, the microcontroller will open that source relay and will disconnect that sources from load. as the microcontroller will be be having continous checking meachanism of of the varaibles. as the voltage gets up in range of the given threshold the system will reconnect that system with the othersources.
there will be minimum triping mechanism in order to make system more stable and more relaible.
