Project Objectives

The basic aim of this project is to build budget friendly on board EV charger using MMC which is new technology in which we can use MMC converter as a inverter and converter both. The main concern and problem of EVs is its charging capability, which needs to be efficient, reliable and cheaper.

Project Implementation Method

We're going to make EV on-board integrated circuit charger through half bridge MMC sub-models(battery cells will be attached with each sub-model) by which we'll do rectification through AC and will charge battery after batteries get charged first phase will get complete and circuit input supply will be cut off through arduino then in second phase by gate drivers we'll use sub-models reverse circuit as inverter and will run 3phase induction motor as output testing but main purpose is to drive ev motor but due to low resources we don't have ev so we'll do testing phase on induction motor.The project hardware will be designed on PEC boardsn including gate drivers sub models arduino battery cells and this project also contain BMS and soft switching techniques.

Benefits of the Project

These words don't prove worth of project but project itself will prove it worth because by implementing MMC technology in ev charger's we'll make reliable cheaper charger which even Jolta company and evs company haven't started yet so it'll contain BMS and soft switching techniques which will make project complext.At the end of finalization of project we can also make power bank for EV which itself will be great revolution in EV industry specially if we see EV trend in Pakistan then it'll be new thing in Pakistan.Even companies like Jolta can use this idea in future because they're manucfuctuirng Eleectroc bikes. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Half bridge MMC will contain sub-models.In each sub-model there will be mosfets,diodes and capacitor.We'll connect battery cells with each sub models and gate driver's will be used in switching.we'll take input of 220v from grid and after rectification through sub models MMC we'll charge battery cells after battery get full charged input will get dis-connected and second phase will start (and remeber each battery cell with sub-models will be examined also arduino and they'll keep getting dis-connect as they get charged(battery cells in each sub model))and through gate driver we'll discharge battery cells through MMC sub model in reverse condition and we'll convert dc into ac at output we'll drive induction motor(3phase or single phase)as output testing.We've completed simulation and prototype of on sub-Mpodel is built yet also.I'll attach pics of simulation here below.
