As our project is to take the one of the process from the different processes working in the refinery. For that purpose we work as a project internee at the Attock Oil Refinery Limited for 2 weeks where we observe the different processes in the oil refinery and after the observation we select the process of RO plant which we have to implement in our project.

Our project is to provide a clean and pure water for drinking. To remove the impurities present in the water by the technique of reverse osmosis. Also we can use the industrial waste water for the drinking purpose by removing the impurities by the process of reverse osmosis. The another objective for which we are specially working to make it possible is to make a hardware of such type for students which is used for the PLC labs to understand the concept of PLC’s more efficiently by working on this hardware.

Project Objectives

The Objective of our project is to provide a clean and pure water for drinking. To remove the impurities present in the water by the technique of reverse osmosis. Also we can use the industrial waste water for the drinking purpose by removing the impurities by the process of reverse osmosis. The another objective for which we are specially working to make it possible is to make a hardware of such type for students which is used for the PLC labs to understand the concept of PLC’s more efficiently by working on this hardware. This mimic or prototype helps them alot to understand the concepts of PLC by doing experiments on it.

Project Implementation Method

For implementing our Project we firstly purchase the hardware and running every equipment one by one using the PLC. After that we cascade the hardware and run the whole hardware by using the PLC. Finally we integrate our PLC with SCADA and run the whole process through SCADA and monitor it.

Benefits of the Project

The reverse osmosis can be used in home to remove impurities from raw water and make it suitable for the drinking. It also helps the student to work in the PLC labs and understand the working of PLC much better by using it.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In our project firstly we have a raw water tank, next to it we have a pressure pump which takes the water from the tank and throw it on the Filter and stored the water in the another tank then there is a diaphragm pump which is specially designed for the membrane and it is of the same psi as the membrane was.Then membrane ejects 2 types of water one is purified form of water and the another one was the rejected water. After applying the process of doping we can also convert this rejected water into the purified form of water. And by using the ph sensor we can check the ph value of water and normally the ph value of drinking water is 7. Float ball level sensors are also used in the water tanks to automatically on and off the motors.
