Project Summary

Media News Video Summarization is the project in which multiple videos are summarized in a single video. User will give the video or URL of video as input and then will give some key words of the news he wants to get from the video. Then through OCR (Optical character recognition) frames from the video will be get and words will be matched. Clips of those parts will be delivered as output. Similarly, user can give any image to get the parts of video containing that image. Image matching will provide the desired output. User can also give some sort of speech like voice note to match from the video. Through speech recognition output will be generated.

Media News video summarization aims to fuse or optimize one or multiple videos of sightseeing into a condensed, descriptive, and aesthetically pleasing one.
The objective is to create a short summary that still conveys the story. It should thus be both, interesting and representative for the input video. The omnipresence Objective is to create video recording devices which need to
automatically edit and summarize videos. Video summarization is a challenging task, however. What characterizes a good summary depends on the context and the task that one aims to execute. This makes obtaining ground truth for summarization data sets and the evaluation of summarization methods difficult.The objective of automatic video summarization is to provide users of video monitoring systems with consisting summaries of what has been observed by a surveillance camera during a long period of time. In some cases, when the scene is usually quiet, simple motion detection would surffice, but in most cases such simple approach will still produce a too long summary. In this project, we aim at obtaining better summaries by combining the different moving objects and display them together, inside the same frames, whenever possible.

Research Objectives

The objective is to create a short summary that still conveys the story. It should thus be both, interesting and representative for the input video. Previous methods often used simplied assumptions and only optimized for one of these goals.
Alternatively, they used hand dened objectives that were optimized sequentially by making consecutive hard decisions.

This limits their use to a particular setting. Instead, we introduce a new method that
1. Uses a supervised approach in order to learn the importance of global char- acteristics of a summary.
2. Jointly optimizes for multiple objectives and thus creates summaries that posses multiple properties of a good summary.
Experiments on two challenging and very diverse data sets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method, where we outperform or match current state-of-the-art.

Mainly the direct customers of the project are media channels. They can benefit directly from this project in their organization by getting any sort of news like news reported from Lahore from their previous history by just giving the key words, image of required data.

Police Department:
As far as beneciaries are concerned, Police department can be one of the beneciaries. It can help in Police department. If they want to know about how many theft incidents have been reported in media, they will get them through this project. It will help them increase their reach to the crime. They can also get footage compiled directly of all crimes reported through media channels.

Weather Company:
Similarly, a weather company can also benet from this project. It could help a Weather company also, if they wanted to have a survey about weather, that in how many days in past month there was rain in Lahore for example and for how
many days weather was dry. They can particularly get weather reporting part from whole bulletin.

Common Man:
A common man can also get benet from this project. A common man can use this application according to his interest. Let say he is a cricket fan; he only wants to get cricket news he can get them using this application easily. This will help him to save his time. Similarly, if someone wants only news about COVID-19 he can get that part only through this project and so on.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The aim of our project is to provide a web-based application in which a person can filter the content of video. Our project will lter the content in three different ways:

• OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
• Speech Recognition
• Image Matching

Input of our project may be a video or YouTube URL. User can also add the keywords in Urdu language that he might want to search in whole video. He can also upload the image of some personality like Imran khan, Nawaz Shareef to scan
the news of that personality. Expected output of our project will be the short video clips containing that personality or scenario. Or a complete video compiled of those clips. We will add the option that whether a user want separated clips or single compiled video and then
output will be accordingly.
