Project Summary

Robotic vehicle that can be controlled using a microcontroller, BT interface and flex sensors, Designed to detect human life in catastrophic circumstances like collapsed building, earthquake or even in a pandemic and deliver goods to a place which cannot be accessed humanly. In this project we’ll design an electronic vehicle which can be operated by ESP32 Microcontroller. We’ve decided to work on this and make a very special kind of vehicle that can help people in catastrophic circumstances like earthquake and as well as the vehicle can perform the different task. We’ve used human detection sensors, they’ll be useful in finding humans stuck inside a collapsed buildings. In this vehicle we use ‘Robotic arm’ to move small obstacles blocking our way inside, Arm is able to lift small weights hence, it can also be used to provide goods to an individual stuck somewhere. Movement of this arm will be controlled by flex/bending sensors. This project also has a camera installed in to provide visual and can also be used in surveillance systems. We’ve used 360 degree tires that allows vehicle to move freely on any surface. Vehicle will be controlled by BT Interface in which we’ve used our second ESP32 device. Wood Chassis is used to keep it lightweight

To detect individuals stuck in a collapsed building. 

To deliver goods to a place which cannot be accessed humanly.

To provide inside visual of a collapsed building or a mine.

Terminate the risk of  losing human life.

To Move small obstacles.

Project Implementation Method

The idea was there from the start, the question was what more can we do with it. Based on current circumstances in which people are advised to avoid roaming outside and the past incidents we had in Pakistan, the decision was made to add few more features (Robotic Arm, Human detection and surveillance application).
A software (FRITZING) used to test prototype of this project.

Benefits of the Project

We’ll be able to provide medicines, food and accessories in fallen buildings.

We’ll be able to get inside visual of places without risking human life.

With slight modifications this project can also be used in industrial applications.

This can also be used in surveillance systems.

We can track human life and rescue them.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable


The robotic arm can move freely by 5 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) with a Servo motor situated at each joint. The joints can be found in shoulder, base, wrist, elbow, and slider as well as in gripper. In this project it will be used to move obstacles and lift small weights.

The ESP32-CAM  is a very small camera module with the ESP32-S chip, it also features a microSD card slot that can be useful to store images taken with the camera or to store files to serve to clients. Here it will be used to provide surveillance applications.

ESP32  low-power system on a chip microcontrollers with integrated Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth. Used for programming and interface.

Flex Sensor used to control movement of robotic arm.

FLYEER 15KG Load 96mm Omni Mecanum Wheel allows the vehicle to move freely on any surface and can cover 360 degree.
