Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary“Mamta” is the platform for the parents to get proper information about the child development at each stage. The system will provide week by week guidance to the parents in form of milestones. The milestones are set to make the baby do required activities for his/her basic mental and physical growth. It also tells the parents about the nutrition requirements of babies. It simplifies the problem for parents who aren’t aware about what they can give their baby at that age (e.g. If they can give baby something solid to eat or not etc.). This system also trains the parents for basic things (like placing a baby’s head etc.) in augmented reality. Moreover the system provides a wide range of visual and textual training to the parents, which is necessary for their children growth.
“Health Statistics” is provided to detect and minimize SIDS, Anemia, Febrile Seizure chances. The system monitors pulse rate of children to prevent death due to SIDS. If low pulse rate is detected, parents gets notified. Similarly, to detect “Anemia”, blood oxygen level is measured and displayed in mobile application. Whenever blood oxygen level reaches alarming level, parents are notified and can take their kid for further testing. Similarly, Body temperature is measured and displayed on mobile application and a noticeable amount of change from the normal body temperature generates a notification to the parents. Also, the proposed system will tell the parents whenever their baby reaches the age for the vaccination.
Moreover, the system alerts the parents whenever the diaper of children is wet and needs changing. This prevents the children from rashes which is a very common problem for infants.
The parents can also ask their F.A.Q’s from “intelligent chat bot”. The chat bot will answer only F.A.Q’s of the parents. It can also provide the home remedies for some of most common problem of infants like diarrhea etc. Furthermore, in case of emergency, the application connects the parents with registered doctors. The parent can send doctor a message, and request a call. If doctor accepts the call request, they can communicate through audio call.
More over the project also includes generation of alarm/ notification when infant trys to approch any harmfull object like knife ,electric sockets ,etc.
Project ObjectivesParenting is not an easy job as responsibilities seem to change every day. The tasks and roles you perform daily as a parent are bound to change as your child gets older. This system will help parents to become more knowledgeable, updated and keep tracks of the precious moments of their child. Its main focus is on enhancing parenting practices, such as learning age-appropriate child development skills and developing and practicing positive discipline techniques through modern technology. The system helps a parent to train for some necessary things (like placing a baby properly) in Augmented Reality. It also provides milestones to be achieved to help parent keeping the baby on track on developmental cycle.
Furthermore, this system also notify the health situation and monitors the early symptoms of “Sudden infant death Syndrome” (SIDS), “Anemia” and “Fever” etc. and notifies their parents about any abnormal health activity through mobile app.
Moreover, it also keep the parents updated about the nutritional requirements of their child from stage to stage. The system provides an intelligent bot which can answer parent’s F.A.Q about their babies. While, In case of any health emergency, this system also connects and communicates the guardians with the relevant doctors.
Project Implementation MethodAfter downloading the application, user will have to sign up for the account through entering email and password. There are two type of users, parents and doctors. When a parent signs into the created account for the first time, he/she will then configure the “Health gadget” using smartphone application

Parent will be able to see multiple options on the screen. By selecting “Add New Baby” the parent will be able to set the details of the new born child. The parent can then learn about “how to take care of the baby” and other necessary trainings in Augmented Reality. The parent would be given details like how to hold babies head, how to put the baby on bed etc. using augmented reality. The parent will also be able to view information regarding the baby caring in form of text and videos. The parent can also mark any of the information as important and set a reminder for it.
When selecting Health Statistics, user (parent) will be able to monitor the health by monitoring the heartrate, blood oxygen level and temperature of the body any time. The system would also check if any unusual change in the Health Statistics is occurred, the parent will be notified about it through the mobile application. It also provides status update on diaper status i.e. if it is wet or not. If it gets wet enough and needs changing it generates an alert to the parent.
The parents can also ask some common questions from the Chat bot. The chat bot can also provide some home remedies to some of the commonly occurring problems of the kids like diarrhea etc.
The parent will also be able to make an appointment with the doctor, if he/she sees any change in health of the baby. The parent will also be able to make an audio call to doctor in case of any emergency. They can also send text message to the doctor regarding the health of the baby. On monthly basis few milestone would be given to the parent regarding the baby progress.
A camera will continously be monitring the child movements, and through object detection, if the child approches any harmfull object a noftication would be sent to the parent

The proposed system has following major advantages:
- Awareness about the proper growth of children will be spread.
- Health issues of children will be monitored on time.
- Chances of stunted growth in children due to nutritional deficiency will be minimized.

Bascially there will be 2 hardware devcies one attached with the baby (sockes) and a base station used for communication with the server and client application. There would be another hardware which will inculde a camera which will be used to monitor baby movement and harmfull objects.
