For generation we are focusing on Solar and Wind sources.With rapid smart micro-grid technology and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system development, the end users (consumers) respond inefficient and imbalance in between power demand and power generation along with battery bank (BB). Our project will control power flow to the consumer. Demand Side Energy Management(DSEM) system for end user in autonomous micro-grid by load balancing and data acquisition reduce the gap between generation and end-user demand in addition for research works. The Project have been designed and examined in professional simulation software. It is also shown that proposed DSEM system is efficient to include more consumers. The main goal of the project is to investigate generation from solar and wind and Demand Side Management in DC microgrid. Following are the objectives:
- To design a load management system designed to control the DC micro-grid by load balancing and managemen for more consumers.
- To make the system stable.
- Prevent power theft.
The project includes devising possible improvements in microgrid because there is no load management or
regulation system or over load protection is available there. First of all we will generate power from two sources
that are solar and wind and then we will store that power in battery with the help of solar and wind charge controller.
Then we will move towards the implementation of our main task that is load management section. There
we will use current sensors to monitor loads of all the connected consumer and relays will be used to On or Off
the loads according to their alloted power. The planning of making of this project is to design and implement
such a smart demand side management for a micro/nano grid that can monitor, detect and eliminate overloaded
consumer in the grid and at the same time making the micro grid more efficient than the traditional systems.
Following Are the main benefits of our project:
- Power theft can be detected and eliminated in this system.
- Automatic Power shut down to consumer in case of overload.
Our project technical details are as follows:
- 12V, 15W generation from solar.
- 12V, 15W generation from Wind.
- Power flow depending on pre-defined value.
- 5v to 12v loads.
