Conventional vertical windmills are operating at very higher speed of air.And there are alot of frictional prroblems due to ball bearings. So there is a need of replacement of ball bearings to reduce friction and enhance efficiency.And to operate windmill at very low speed of air.

Project Objectives•To design a Maglev VAWT for low wind application.
•To fabricate a prototype

Project Implementation MethodFirst of all we have been done literature drilldown .we hav been collected data about drawbacks of conventional vertical windmill.After that we make a cad modelling design .And then we will analyse it on ansys software where we will chek the best angle of attack of air to rotate the turbine on very low wind speed.And then we will febricate it and assemble it.
Benefits of the Project1): These turbines are able to use winds with starting speed as low as 1.5m/s because of negligible friction achieved by magnetic levitation.
2): Also they could operate in winds exceeding 40m/s.
3):Has great future potential.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableProject will levitate with the help of magnetic levitation on very low wind speed.
