However, traditional agricultural mechanisms are in place and inadequate effort has been put into exploit the usage of technology. One of the main problems being faced by agriculture sector in Pakistan and other developing countries is that crop diseases are not diagnosed timely and efficiently. Conventional methods for disease diagnosis in crops lead to less accurate and inefficient diagnosis, consequently leading to low productivity. Plant diseases causes:
- Annual global food supply loss due to plant disease is 40% on average.
- In developing countries, smallholder farmers generate more than 80% of the agricultural production. For them, the loss of crops has devastating consequences.
- Sometimes, farmers can lose almost 100% of their crop due to plant diseases. This makes crop disease a major threat to food security around the world.
Many algorithms have been designed on it but could not achieve accurate results. Our target is to achieve a best algorithm for it.
Project ObjectivesTo resolve this problem, we aim to build an algorithm for making detection of the different plant leaves diseases. Further, the aim is to diagnose disease type and make it easy. In this way, in very less period of time anyone can diagnose and treat the disease in order to make the rest plants safe from the spreading of the disease.
Objectives In Bullets:
- The main objective of the project is to speed up the plant disease detection.
- Developing a system to detect and classify the disease of the plant by uploading the leaf image to the system.
- The proposed system will provide information about the leaf image whether it is healthy or unhealthy. If the plant leaf is unhealthy the system will tell what type of disease the leaf has.
- The final product will be available as a hierarchy (GUI), which will be used by PC or Laptop.
