Project Summary

Our project is based on the concept of Heart rate monitoring and Heart attack detection using wearable device but it has an additional functionality.

The “IOT Heart Attack Detection” will be a device similar to an arm band, the device will be using a Wi-Fi module to connect to your mobile app and online firebase.

The device application will have a login portal in which the user can create a successful session. From the dashboard we can monitor the heart rate and temperature realtime. Our application will also keep a log that will have the Temperature and blood pressure of the user.

The device's main function will be to send an alert message to user's loved ones (the saved contacts) using mobile GSM in case if the user needs a medical aid and it will also generate a log.

Project Objectives

In this system with the help of IOT, heart attack can be detected and life can be saved. This system focuses on providing an affordable gadget to old age people, those who are more likely to suffer from heart diseases, so that medical aid could be provided on time and they themselves can monitor their readings. Along with heart rate, temperature can also be measured using this system. We believe that our project will be beneficial for the society.

Project Implementation Method

Two type of approach we have chosen for heart attack device implementation – using a Hardware and Software system, and this system uses android application to monitor heartbeat and temperature through wearable device by using mobile Bluetooth/Wi-Fi further processed and used to monitoring and alerting. This application’s main aim is to help people with health problem, those who could need medical assistance anytime.

Benefits of the Project

This system of IOT heart attack device can detect medical readings and lives can be saved. This system helps people who are more likely to suffer from heart diseases. Blood pressure and temperature can be measured and viewed in realtime using this system. In case of unusual heart rate or temperature readings, the system will automatically send SMSs to saved contacts so that they may come in aid. We believe that our project will be beneficial for the society.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Heart attack detection device is a band device; the device will contain a heart rate sensor which will continuously monitor our pulses. The device will also connect to our mobile through a Wi-Fi module and an app. We will set the high as well as low levels of heart beat limit, after setting these limits, the system starts monitoring and as soon as patient heart beat exceed a certain limit, our application will send message to the stored contacts through the application.
