Iot Based Solar Power Plant Monitoring System
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThe internet of things (iot) is one of the most important technologies of everyday life, which helps people live and smarter. An iot is a device, which is used to enable the connection between machine and the cloud. This technology helps to exchange the data between the connected devices on the available network. Through the internet, the user can acquire the data and control the devices from any place all over the world.• We are using iot based monitoring system for theft control, automatic dust cleaning system, voltage and current measurement, for getting the maximum power output from solar cells and for recognizing the faulty solar panel we are using voltage sensor and current sensor with ESP 32 bit microcontroller. Using tilt sensor for the protection from theft and using WIFI module for alarm, sending message or call towards the owner in case of any fallacious situation.Dust is a major problem for solar panel. The solar cells doesn’t get the maximum radiation/light energy from the sun and it effects its output power. In solution for this we are using automatic cleaning system of solar panel
Project ObjectivesThe main objectives to achieve are:
1. The System allows 24/7 protection for solar panels from theft.
2. It provides automatic cleanliness for solar panels.
3. Maximum power output
4. Automatic rain sensor that allows systems activation for wiping.
Project Implementation MethodBased on internet of things (Iot) it allows user to operate in a hand device. First of all desgning a system thoroughly on a software( Proteus) to find out the results theoretically. Bringing the hardware modules to set up a practical project. we are using 80 watt solar panel with higher efficiency including different kind of sensors ( IR sensor, LDR sensor, voltage sensor, current sensor, rain sensor,Dust sensor, tilt sensor etc) for the project, regulated power supply, ESP 32 bit arduino, Arduino Nano, LCD display, DC motor for wiping, H-bridge for moving the wiper left and right with push buttons and a support for solar panel, These hardwares had brought up till 08/08/2021. Then, we moved on to our next process which is hardware set up incuding software set up till 09/03/2022. After that there will be testing and Project Testing report will be submitted to our Supervisor.
Benefits of the ProjectFollowing are the benefits:
1. The System allows 24/7 protection for solar panels from theft. Whenever the system got disturb, the user will be informed.
2. It provides automatic cleanliness for solar panels, by wiping out all the dust or dirt from the solar panel with high pressure of throughing water.
3. Maximum power output due to voltage and current sensors which enable us to check the Power of each panel.
4. Automatic rain sensor that allows systems activation for wiping or cleaning.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFollowing are the deliverables:
1. Defense Proposal till 05/06/2021.
2. Collection of Project ideas from faculty, 05/07/2021.
3. Prepare simulation till, 25/07/2021.
4. Prepare hardwares till 08/08/2021.
5. Set up hardwares and software till 24/04/2022.
6. Final testing 05/05/2022.
7. Final report 10/05/2022.
