Parking problems are becoming universal and ever-growing at an alarming rate in every major city. A Lot of research and development is being done all over the world to implement better and smarter parking management mechanisms. Widespread use of wireless technologies paired with the recent advances in wireless applications for parking, manifests that digital data diffusion could be the key to solve emerging parking problems. Internet of Things (IOT) technology has attracted increased attention and is rapidly emerging due to the enormous application potential in diverse fields. This emerging field is expected to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution to the effluent car parking problems. The purpose of our project is to design an automatic parking system that provides information of the empty parking spaces in the indoor parking area. The detection of the cars will be done with the help of motion sensors. And then the Implementation of this system using IOT.
Project Objectives- To reduce time and energy consumption in finding parking spaces.
- To provide a pre-booking feature for convenience.
- To build a smart management system for increased security and reduced efforts.
the snesors will be installed in a parking space to detect the presence of vehicle. sensor will send its reading to the controller which will process the readigns and decide the vacancy of the parking based upon the parameters.then controller will send this data to IoT cloud over Wi-Fi which in turn will send this data to the android application where it can be seen by end user.
Benefits of the Project- will save time and fuel of vehicle owners in finding parking. According to a Survey,a vehicle owner spends an average of 15 to 20 minutes a day in finding parking spaces. Another survey suggests that around 47,000 gallons of fuel is wasted every year in parking problems.
- will help parking space owners in managing their spaces effectively and keeping a track of how many vehicles entered and left the parking space. so, can be used for surveillance purposes as well.
the final deliverables include;
- hardware circuitry including sensors which will detect presence of parking space and a controller which will process the readings of sensor.
- Android Application with the help of which the users can check the availability of parking spaces.
