With the Internet being an essential part of broad communication in modern life, IoT has allowed homes to go beyond building to interactive abodes. In many spheres of human life, the IoT has grown exponentially, including monitoring ecological factors, controlling the home and its appliances, and storing data generated by devices in the house in the cloud
Internet of things understand and conceptualizes the ideas and monitoring real world objects. Towards this, there has been lot of research work carried out in developing some smart lighting system pertaining to classroom for conserving the energy. In one another research, researchers have developed Android based Smart home system for monitoring the usage of power to avoid any kind of anomaly.
In the modern era , power consumption is increasing day by day , people often forget to close the electric applaiance after office work due to which extra power is consuming for controlling power there should be WIFI controlled energy mangment system which control power consumption.

The purpose of this smart Energy management system is to show the status of ON electrical appliances during off timing of the classroom.

The purpose of this prototype is to manage the usage of the electrical appliances properly.
objective of this project is to build a smart classroom device that can be used to control electrical appliances via the internet. The classroom automation device that you build can be integrated with almost all the electrical appliances and can be used to control them remotely from the application.
The proposed system will assist in controlling all the appliances automatically. All the energy being used and distributed to various appliances will be managed and displayed on the screen to help the user to maintain the mismanagement of energy so, that the same could be managed by a remotely controlled system
A microprocessor is used to control the different electrical appliances through different sensors.
The system can also be connected to an Android App which you can develop on your own using some applications like MIT App Invent etc. By using this app, you will be able to monitor and control electrical appliances from any part of the world with ease.
Project Implementation MethodThe core purpose of project is to control the electrical appliances and reduce power consumption through internet via application.
Temperature sensor is used to sense the surrounding temperature which we use for controlling Fan and AC.
IR sensor is used to detect the motion of object through Infrared radiation.
Both Sensors combined will control the Fan and AC appliances.
During off time of classroom, if there is any appliance is on current sensor will generate an alarm and send message over the WIFI which enables the user to off that appliance through application.
Arduino UNO has been used to interface the sensors which control electrical appliances.
The proposed system use LCD display which shows temperature and Fan ON/OFF status.
The whole interconnected (Arduino, Sensors, Relays, Electrical Appliances) system interfaced with ESP8266 WIFI module, which control the extra power consumption through application.
The application consists of the ON and OFF status of electrical appliances and have option to OFF or ON the application through single button on application.
Benefits of the ProjectInternet of Things is the most advanced system which interlinked different electrical appliances through the internet and makes these appliances controlled through the internet.
- Smart Energy management system has different sensors and electrical appliances which are embedded through Arduino UNO
- Electrical appliances can be controlled with a single button through the application, it will become easy for the user to use the app on his smartphone.
- User can easily calculate total power consumption through application and LCD which he can easily calculate his total cost consumption.
- An efficiency of the electrical appliances will also increase e.g. smart Fan or AC will operate under specified conditions, LED lights will be ON or OFF when there is a person available in the classroom.
