IOT Based Real Car Automation
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe present era is all about Innovation and Automation. Our concepts and imaginary things are becoming a reality because of IOT (Internet of Things). when all the Things are becoming Smart, Transportation is not an exception. In the present World Security, Automation, Innovation, and Efficiency are the main concern of many People, so we come up with an Idea of IOT based Real Car Automation. In this project, we are focusing toward the designing and development of a network that will aid in controlling different car functions like Car power, Car Ignition, Car window, Air Conditioner of car, Car Headlights, Car lock-unlock, Car breaks, and Car Acceleration. The car will be able to detect hurdles in its front and its rear and will automatically attend a Spy call. Moreover, the location of our car will be tracked, we will get notified when car speed goes beyond speed-limit and when the car goes out of a certain predefined zone. The World is moving towards Innovation and Automation. The things which we thought were imaginary are now becoming a reality. This all become possible because of IOT (Internet of Things). Now when all the Things are becoming Intelligent, Transportation is not set free either. In the present World Security, Automation, Innovation, and Efficiency are the main concern of many People, so we come up with an Idea of IOT based Real Car Automation. Project ObjectivesThe objective of our project is the introduction of security, automation, and innovation even in less expensive cars. Our project will make a car accessible from near places as well as places that are very far I.e remotely control from anywhere in the World. For this, we are introducing a mountable system that will make any less expensive automatic cars to have features that most expensive cars like Mercedes Benz, Audi, etc contains.
Project Implementation MethodFor doing this project we adopt the following method:
1. First, we made research on IoT and its application in vehicles.
2. We collected the data, summarise it and make a guide.
3. Then we learned about different components like Raspberry pie, sensors, and relays and their working that are going to be used in making our system. And also learned about the wiring of the Car by testing.
4. Then we learned about accessing a device from anywhere and set up our remote server.
5. After that, we learned about integrating the device I.e Mobile and Raspberry Pi with the remote server for transferring data from one device to another.
6. Finally, we set up the server and control most of our described features.
Benefits of the ProjectA lot of benefits can be achieved through this. The number one is cost-effective system that will introduced the automated features (till now available in most expensive cars) in our less expensive cars as well as security that If the car is stolen by someone we can be able to track its location easily and can turn the engine off, in addition to this we can be able to make a spy call which will be automatically attended by the car allowing the owner to hear the conversation of the thief. If we forget to lock the door or we remember that we haven’t close car window, then it will not remain a big issue because we can lock the door and close the window through our mobile phone. We can park the car using a mobile phone even in a small space. And get notified when there is an obstacle. In addition to these issues, there are some efficiency elements which can be achieved through our project. During hot weather one can switch on the AC through the app, so that car is already cool when he sits inside it as well as when the temperature rises beyond certain predefined value AC will automatically start moreover when it rains, the car will sense it and the wipers will turn on.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableOur System contains Devices Like:
1. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B as an overall main controller of the system.
2. Two 4 channel relays for controlling windows.
3. One 16 channel Relay and an Aurdino for controlling remaining functions like Ignition, Door Lock/Unlock, etc.
4. Temperature, Light and Ultrasonic sensors for measuring temperature, light Intensity, and hurdles.
5.A remote server that takes request command from Android mobile phone and Sensors and issues these commands to the System to perform the functionalities.
