Transformers are the main building block in a power system. Any damages in transformers adversely affects the balance of a power system. The damages are mainly occurring due to overloading and inefficient cooling. The main objective of the is real time monitoring of the performance of the distribution transformer using IOT technology. The parameters such as temperature, oil level ,voltage and current of a transformer are monitored, processed and recorded in servers. For this purpose, we use four sensors interfaced with Arduino. The recorded data can be send using Wi-Fi module and accessed from anywhere around the world using IOT technology on webserver. This helps in identifying without human dependency. This helps in identifying and solving a problem before a failure without human dependency.
By using Transfer Monitoring System, we can maintain the various ongoing operations taking place in the transformer using IOT based application. Transformer is basically used for supplying of electricity distribution and transmission. We can check or monitor the transformer performance so that we can replace the faulty equipment before failure and continuity of power supply without fail. Various sensors are used in this system to monitor the internal ongoing operation in the system.
The main objective of this project, we first need to check the drawbacks of the conventional transformer monitoring system and the problem we face in the electricity distribution.
So, we need to overcome these drawbacks and need to work smarter and faster so that monitoring of the system by using IOT platforms in real time become easier and we can easily detect the problem at any point of time. By making the system reliable, we can check and improve the transformer health condition at regular basis.
To implement this project . First of all we have to connect all four sensors like temperature sensor , voltage sensor , oil level sensor and current sensors with arduino. The arduino will take data from these sensors either in analog or digital form according to the nature of sensor connected with it. Arduino will process the data which have taken from sensors according to the instructions as given in program and will display the results on lcd . For online monitoring of parameters, the arduino also send this data to wifi module which will upload the data on iot cloud (webserver) where we can monitor the data in real time.
By using Transformer Monitoring system using IOT based platform, it can eliminate the requirement of human power and thus increases the efficiency and overall accuracy in the system. This system helps to manage the electricity supply in the system and also helps to detect the electricity theft. Moreover, this system helps to assure the safety level and assure to cause no harm to the environment and surroundings.

In IoT, interaction between the physical and digital worlds using sensors and actuators are carried out. A sensor or a network of sensors are used to sense the physical parameters or the respective environment. These processed sensor output are then send to the main server or cloud with the help of various network devices. The data can be accessed over internet from anywhere around the world. Monitoring and controlling form the basic objective of IoT technology. Hence IoT based monitoring is preferred more than manual monitoring. The system is a real time monitoring of transformer parameters such as voltage, current, oil level and temperature. This will help to identify the faults before a serious failure occurs.
