Project Summary

Industrial safety measures system with sensors and actuators. The main idea is to develop an application which can provide security for industries by using sensors and actuators. In industries like pharmaceuticals and chemical industries continuous monitoring is very important so this application will be very useful for in reality. The solenoid valve will automatically off after the detectection and the leakage of gases.

Project Objectives

  • An algorithm will be developed to ensure the automation of the safety system. A set point will be set for the emergency condition to take safety measures when needed.
  • A Wi-Fi module will be interfaced with the Arduino controller read the live data from the controller and send the data to the web server for the purpose of real time monitoring.
  • For the Wi-Fi module, a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) algorithm will be developed for the purpose of interfacing the controller with the web server.
  • A Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the web server will be developed using a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) algorithms to monitor the industrial environmental conditions in real time.

Project Implementation Method

  • This consist on two nodes having liquid/gas where we connect some sensors (i.e. flame and smoke sensors) will sense the flame and smoke and run the actuators if an emergency situation is sensed. In other words, we can say that it will run the actuators if the sensed value is exceeded from the set point.
  • For the actuators, we will use fans, motors and solenoid valves. The fan will be switched ‘ON’ if smoke is detected and the motor/safety washer will switch on if any flames are detected.
  • Motor here will be used as a prototype of safety washer.

Benefits of the Project

  • It can be used at home with relatively low amount of sensors. It will ensure maximum safety from fire emergency conditions at home.
  • The project will benefit the Industry because it will ensure the safety of the Industrial environment and it will show the real time environment conditions on the web server that will ensure maximum safety from any of the emergency conditions related to fire and safety.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

1. Final deliverable is a complete prototype real time system on which it does not require any human machine interaction for measuring.

2. Monitoring and controlling  of  of different leakage  of gases which harmful for industry.
