Project Title

IoT Based Agriculture System

Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary

Farmers are faced with new challenges and opportunities every day. The small-scale farmers are not able to frequently analyze their farm condition leading to crop failures. The irrigation of the farm may become irregular and tedious with manual irrigation procedures. Our project is the solution to these problems. Our system will help farmers in improving farming techniques by ‘providing’ and ‘using’ data about the weather conditions, irrigation, and soil nutrition. User will be able to monitor the environment and element of human error will be eliminated. We have used different kind of sensors in our project that are going to sense the weather conditions, temperature of the soil etc. and after detecting these, the farmer will be notified, and associated issues will be solved by the system automatically without the human- human interaction. Our project will turn the agriculture into the smart agriculture system and then a better product growth will be experienced.

Project Objectives

Following are the main objectives of our project:

Project Implementation Method

IoT technologies are used in order to bring diversity in the way agricultural activities are entertained. Various sensors are used to sense the environmental conditions and then, in accordance to the sensed conditions, further implementations are followed as shown in the following flow chart:

In this figure the sensors used in the project are connected to the raspberry pi model 3Bplus. When the power supply will be turned on, all the sensors will start their work. After sensing the environmental conditions; the data, the readings, and the graphs will be visualized on the website ThingSpeak. This web can be open though the mobile, tablets, Pc’s and laptops. Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Website: Website is the main techical deliverable from client's point of view. Through a website whole system will be monitored by the farmer.

Hardware will be planted near he field. Following sensors are incorporated in the hardware system:
•    PIR SENSOR
•    SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR FC-28
•    SOIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
•    AIR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSOR-DHT11

Things Speak API will be forwarded the results of the attached sensors and these results will then be shown on a website in form of data, readings and graphs.
