Project Summary

In today’s world, due to the COVID-19 situation, many educational institutions are closed due to GOVT restrictions which included IELTS test preparation centers. So, a solution is needed to counter this problem if IELTS preparation is online at home. Many apps are available for this solution, but they only provide preparation materials and tests based on MCQs, so the problem still needs an answer. So, we plan to develop an app that covers all four main modules of IELTS. Intellitutor is a native app for complete IELTS preparation and statement for the Listening and Reading module; the user can listen and read paragraphs and sentences in selected accents. After that random test is generated based on levels, and after the trial, a predicted percentage is displayed to the user based on his performance; for the writing test user will upload her answers of writing in picture format of the generated test then after inspection of the picture and app-generated percentage according to results. For Speaking Test, an agent is created who makes conversation with the user in audio format, and the user also answers in audio format. Then a result is generated after inspection. In the end, the overall predicted IELTS Band is developed. The application deal with three types of users: Mentors who prepare and select content for their students. Students use this app for IELTS preparation and practice. Admin monitors and maintains all the activities performed by the system.

Project Objectives

Our goal is to solve IELTS students’ problems in Pakistan as English is not their mother language, so it is challenging to learn English for the IELTS test. We try to solve the challenges of Pakistani students by developing one app for learning, practicing, and testing English for IELTS test preparation. The main problem is that student is unaware of their learning progress. We provide a platform where students can quickly test their learning progress using our app. Our objectives are as follows:

1. To solve student problems in learning English for IELTS Test.
2. Provide a prediction module to check the student's learning outcomes.
3. To provide functionality where students can interact with our system by Voice and test their speaking skills.
4. Students can quickly check their handwriting accuracy according to IELTS rules by uploading their handwritten images.
5. Students can learn, test, and practice all IELTS modules using our app.

  • For the Listening and Reading module, the user can listen and read paragraphs and sentences. After that random test is generated based on levels, and after the trial, a predicted percentage is displayed to the user based on user performance.
• Written Test
  • For the writing test student will upload answer of writing in picture format of the generated test then after inspection of the picture and app-generated percentage according to results.
• Speaking Test
  • For the speaking test, the system asks the question in audio format and the student will answer the question in audio format, and that audio record sends to the mentor, and mentor generate the result.
• Grammar Auto-Correction and predict the accuracy of the writer.
• Research on “finding challenges to students when preparing for IELTS in Pakistan”.
• Show mentor & student online status.
