Image Processing Size Verification Parcel Sorting Conveyor Belt works as automation in production industry and sorting the products. The camera used with pi, identify the product by its specifications like size and object recognition. The goal of object recognition is to automatically detect objects in the screen and classify them according to their properties. After that, product is categorized according to the specifications. Accumulate the products of similar types. This project prototype helps us to keep the data of each category of products produced total in a day. The belt consists of one or more layers of material. They can be made out of rubber. Many belts in general material handling have two layers. An under coating of material to afford linear strength and shape christened a carcass and an over layer baptized the cover.
The main objective of this proposed project is to give the logistics and courier companies an easy way to sort the products in the manner it wants to be placed. This project at the first differentiates the product on basis of size, then it sorts the similar ones. This could be achieved through use of the components which detect the specific characteristics of various products in order to distinguish them and treat as asked. Image processing further reinforces it into a minimum error possibility.
The demand of smart technology paved in reducing the labor and increasing the efficiency is revolutionary. Image processing the is being done by Raspberry Pi which is also known as mini computer and a camera installed along with it, which helps in recognizing the object’s length, width, height, color and material type. Conveyor belts are easy way to sort the things the manner it is needed but when the image processing is put into it and it becomes a robot which totally works by its own. It can be implemented to the courier services, airports, industries producing myriad goods at a same time, laboratories etc.
Technically, through this project we want to aware the industrialists that the world is moving towards the smart and robotic machines which are efficient and easily adaptable. Most importantly the project is locally made which doesn’t cost any international custom duties, giving career path and jobs to the youth. Ultimately supporting country both economically and creating jobs. Final project machine will be tested in some industry and monitored properly. The efficiency and adaptability will decide, this project is suitable to be implemented in industry or not.
