Project Title

Hybrid combat electric vehicle

Project Area of Specialization

Mechatronics Engineering

Project Summary

In this projecct, we are desiging a  Hybrid Combat Electric Vehicle. The entire vehicle will run on batteries. We are transmitting power through induction motors. We are using 2 induction motors to power up the vehicle The whole system is controlled by Controllers. We are making self design structure for the vehicle. The total weight of the vehicle is 1 ton, which is 1 by 50 scale of the original vehicle. We will run this vehicle on rubber belt making it fast and easy to move and achieve max velocity. This vehicle will also run on inclined surface with a torque of 180 Nm.

Project Objectives

The main purpose of this project is to introduce a new combat vehicle which will run totally on electricity and will be very fuel efficient. and it will change the future of the combat vehicle industry.

Project Implementation Method

First we will calculate the torque requirements of our vehicle by keeping in mind the weight and conatct friction and every other aspect of it. Then we will select the motor that can trasmitt that power for this we will be using induction motor. Then we will select the batteries that can energize the motors and then we will select the generator that can charge the batteries. In the end we will be selecting the engine that can run our generator.

  •  We will be designing the structure of vehicle totally hence dedecatting ourselves to the mechanical side.
  • Now we will set all the things that we have calculated and selected above in the calculation section.
  • In the end we will be controlling all the batteires and motors and generators hence dedicating ourself towards the control sysytem side.

Benefits of the Project

The main purpose of this project is to introduce a new combat vehicle which will run totally on electricity and will be very fuel efficient. It will change the future of the combat vehicle industry.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

  • A fully tracked combat electric vehicle having a mass of 1 TON with a torque of 160Nm.
  • 20 litres fuel capacity that will charge the battery of the vehicle and that vehicle will then run on the battery power.
  •  It will have a built in system to change petrol into electricty hence increasing the milegae by 30%.
