Project Summary

In this era of the internet, e-commerce is growing by leaps and bounds keeping the growth of brick-and-mortar businesses in the dust. In fact, people use e-commerce websites on a daily basis to present their products for sale or to make their everyday purchases. However, due to lack of exposure and awareness the rural population is not able to use this platform to showcase their products. To practically implement this, we will be surveying the supply and demand trade off at different areas of Pakistan and then select the categories of products to be available on our site by applying analytics on the data collected.Therefore, to counter this inability we will design an ecommerce website that bridges the gap between the rural and urban personnels and unites them on a platform where talent is appreciated and business is promoted.

Project Objectives

Inability of people from rural areas to sell their masterpieces to clients from all around the world due to absence of encouraging platforms. Therefore, we’ll be developing an ecommerce website to cater to the talented local people from all over Pakistan. Our project is basically an ecommerce website that allows E-marketing of traditional and cultural products from all over Pakistan giving chance to local sellers to present their work to the whole world and sell at their own prices. Due to lack of exposure and awareness the rural population is not able to use this platform to showcase their products.Therefore, to counter this inability we will design an ecommerce website that bridges the gap between the rural and urban personnels and unites them on a platform where talent is appreciated and business is promoted. At the stage of idea brainstorming, our project’s scope was limited to the trading of products of interior sindh but now we plan to include all the traditional and cultural products from all over Pakistan.

Project Implementation Method

Firstly, we started working on the project by collecting the data and then store it in the database by maintaining the categories of products (Jewellery,Home decor, bags,footwear,clothing,etc) . Secondly, we will start working on other modules of the project like frontend and backend. Thirdly, we will run different test cases (unit tests) in order to validate the functionalities of the system and then, we will integrate all the modules and host the web application on the server.  We will be selecting a NOSQL database like MongoDb to maintain the database, design front-end using Angular js framework(css, html, typescript, bootstrap), develop backend using node js and then finally we’ll test our site and then host it on servers like shopify,netlify,heroku,etc. 

Benefits of the Project

As a Computer Science major, we understand that E-Commerce implementation is a crucial process for organizations to become successful. Our project is a practical solution to eradicate the barrier between the rural and urban traders. HumanCraft will evolve as a platform where every talented person will get benefitted and would be able to grab opportunities irrespective of its cast, creed, or social status.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The HumanCraft as a complete project will be a fully responsive and dynamic ecommerce web application with front-end developed using Angular.js framework and bootstrap modules, database using mongoDb and their integration using node.js as backend. The final delieverable will have compatibility with operating systems, browsers,etc.
