Human Detector Drone
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryNatural disasters have recently opened the door to tragedies that affect many parts of the world. Disasters are unavoidable and unusual natural or man-made events, such as earthquakes, wildfires, floods and terrorist attacks, etc. These natural disasters lead to a large number of deaths due to being trapped by debris or due to lack of timely assistance. One of the biggest challenges, the rescue and search team faces during a major disaster, is the search for survivors and victims’ quickly and in remote areas to ensure that people do not get trapped under the debris. This project can help to detect people in such extreme situations within no time at a place where vehicles cannot. This program assists in the rescue program by identifying the exact location of the survivors in advance. Since the system is a drone-based system, it can be easily integrated and controlled. The system combines a monitoring system with a camera module and a sensor unit to detect the presence of people buried under the debris. The system sends data in advance for further action and investigation. This project is a onerous necessity and will be a hidden blessing in emergencies and will serve as a critical need in urban disasters.
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of the project are as follows:
To provide a prototype of practical design to build a simplified version of a Human detection system, to indicate the causalities and help them to access the needed first aid.
To rescue humans trapped in the debris in the time of natural disasters.
To contribute and effective implementation of disaster risk reduction – Sustainable development goals.
To help disaster management institutes for enhancing safety and recovery rate. (Rescue 1122, Edhi Foundation, Fire Brigade etc.)
Project Implementation MethodThe whole prototype will be composed of following components to indicate the causalities and help them to access the needed first aid, that includes:
Auto Return Professional WIFI FPV aerial RC Drone LH-X25 2.4G 4CH 720P Camera FPV Helicopter RC quadcopter: In difficult-to-reach places quadcopter can collect very high-resolution data and download pictures.
PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor): used in thermal sensing applications, such as security and motion detection. They are commonly used in security alarms, motion detection alarms, and automatic lighting applications.
Buzzer: an audio signaling device.
GPS Sensor: monitoring object movement.
ZB Bridge: remotely manage the PIR sensor for monitoring and control purposes
Benefits of the ProjectThis can be used for rescue of humans trapped in the debris in the time of natural disasters.
It will be useful to monitor the affected area.
It will make movement possible in shortest possible time to rescue humans in areas inaccessible by rescue teams.
Access badly damaged areas.
